Firefighters scrambled to fulfill flight at Manchester Airport after unscheduled touchdown
A Turkish Airlines flight travelling from Istanbul to Toronto was forced to divert to Manchester Airport on Tuesday evening (July 28) after a technical issue, with several fire engines spotted heading to the aircraft

A Turkish Airlines flight was forced into making an unscheduled landing at Manchester Airport earlier this evening (July 28).
Flight THY1GJ, en route from Istanbul to Toronto, touched down around 7:30pm after circling over the North Sea, possibly jettisoning fuel to facilitate its landing, according to flight data.
Several fire engines were seen on standby before they headed towards the aircraft after it landed safely at Manchester.
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport confirmed that the aircraft had landed safely and a ‘technical issue’ had been subsequently resolved, reports the Manchester Evening News. Turkish Airlines have been approached for further details.
