Showbiz and soccer worlds to unite for large charity gig hosted by high pundits

Showbiz stars and football heroes will team up this autumn to give thousands of youngsters a shot at a brighter future. They will front a high-profile campaign to bring education, sport, training and life-changing opportunities to some of Britain’s toughest areas.
Chart-topping singer Tom Grennan and pop icon Gabrielle will give live performances in a massive fund-raising gala hosted by football pundits Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville.
The event – dubbed Football for Change – is aimed at tackling child poverty by supporting organisations which make a tangible difference to young lives. The initiative has already raised more than £1.5 million to support grassroots charities and community projects working with kids who may not otherwise get a chance in life.

Its efforts so far have been backed by singers Sir Rod Stewart, Noel Gallagher, Boy George and Paloma Faith, along with footballers Sir David Beckham, Dominik Szoboslai and Wayne Rooney.
Football for Change was founded by players Jamie Carragher, Conor Coady and Trent Alexander Arnold. Former Liverpool defender Jamie said: “Football has the power to inspire and bring people together, but it also has the ability to create real change.
“Every year we’re overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who supports Football For Change, and this year’s gala promises to be our biggest yet. The funds raised will help grassroots organisations continue their incredible work, giving young people opportunities they may never otherwise have had.”
The annual extravaganza will return to Liverpool on November 14, uniting some of the biggest names in football, music and entertainment for an unforgettable evening dedicated to creating brighter futures for young people across the UK.
The event, hosted by TV presenter Mark Wright, will feature an exclusive football Q&A featuring Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville and a host of special football guests. Funds raised from this year’s gala will continue to support organisations making a tangible difference to young lives, helping to remove barriers to opportunity and inspire the next generation to achieve their potential.
