Chilling images of Liam Payne’s final moments have surfaced in fresh police documents.

The new pictures have sparked a new chilling theory on the death of the One Direction member as a police source has claimed one of the new images is “highly significant.” The One Direction icon, 31, left his devoted fanbase devastated in 2024 when he perished after plummeting 46ft from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The performer had journeyed to Argentina 16 days before the fatal fall while awaiting his US visa renewal. He had spent the majority of the trip with partner Kate Cassidy and entrepreneur Rogelio “Roger” Nores. And was allegedly clean during the initial fortnight of his visit before Kate departed for Miami on October 14.

Following Kate’s departure, Liam checked out of the upmarket Park Hyatt after supposedly vandalising his room and engaging in a heated altercation with staff. He subsequently relocated to the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where his life tragically ended.

A devastating collection of documents, photographs, witness statements and official reports compiled by investigators following Liam’s death in Buenos Aires have now been disclosed, reports the Mirror.

A heartbreaking CCTV photograph shows the father-of-one, gaunt-faced and haggard, lurching through the hallways just one hour before he fell to his death, in evidence revealed by The Mail.

The report also exposes his family’s anguish, with a witness statement from Liam’s father Geoff, who informed prosecutors his son “disappeared” when consumed by his struggles. He stated: “He was not in control with what he did. He was not Liam.”

Liam is said to have repeatedly phoned his hotel’s front desk requesting drugs and ordering numerous bottles of Johnnie Walker Black label whisky via room service.

Police documents reportedly include messages from a “‘Reception” group WhatsApp chat on 14 October, in which hotel manager Gilda Martin wrote: “This person is going to be very intense throughout his stay. It’s important that we tell him ‘no’, always kindly and with excuses. This is to stop him from continuing to be aggressive. Or at least not so much.”

The reception team responded: “Will do whatever we can as long as he doesn’t get violent.”

While at the hotel, Liam allegedly contacted two escorts after discovering one of their profiles online. According to their statements, the singer sent photos of himself in bed and a video confirming his identity after one woman found it hard to believe she was interacting with the One Direction star.

The women stated they arrived at the hotel around 11.30am, presented identification at reception and were permitted to go up to his room.

They claimed there was a language barrier as Liam only spoke English while they conversed in Spanish, resulting in them relying on a translation app for communication. They stated: “During our time there, we had sex with him, which was consensual sex, only once, and he wore protection.”

The duo claimed they spent approximately two hours with Liam before asking again for the agreed payment. They alleged he instead offered them his Rolex, which they said he later smashed when they declined.

One of the women recounted: “We told him we only wanted money so he took it and smashed it. He told us he didn’t care about the money.

“And then he broke the TV, he punched it. He made us understand that he could smash everything because he knew he could pay for it.”

Images have previously surfaced showing a shattered television set, with Liam’s Room 310 described as “carnage”.

Photographs reveal bed sheets ripped off, what seem to be blood smears on the bathroom sink, and drug-related items scattered around the room, including charred Coca-Cola can lids, a blackened spoon and half-burnt candles. Authorities believe Liam converted powdered cocaine into a liquid “crack” form of the drug, which he either snorted or injected.

CCTV footage later depicts the celebrity pacing up and down, while the escorts, having left Liam’s room, were in the lobby. The women departed around 3.30pm and Liam’s mate Roger arrived at 4pm, as shown in the footage.

The men had a chat, but Roger claimed Liam did not appear under the influence, so he left again. Forty minutes later, the star was found dead.

Roger was initially accused of “abandoning” Liam, but all charges were subsequently dropped.

Initially, five individuals faced charges related to the incident, including allegations of drug supply and negligence. By 2026, all charges had been dropped against three suspects, including businessman Rogelio Luis “Roger” Nores, who was acquitted of manslaughter and drug-supply accusations.

Meanwhile, two remaining defendants, accused of selling cocaine to Payne, are engaged in plea discussions that could lead to reduced sentences.

The exact circumstances surrounding Liam’s death may remain a mystery, but a newly released image has sparked fresh speculation about his demise. The blurry photo from the police files shows the singer wearing a green top and grey jeans, swinging around a pole outside the hotel at 3.21am in the early hours before his tragic end.

A source close to the investigation last week stated that the police deem the pole picture “highly significant” as it demonstrates Liam’s upper body strength. This implies that, rather than contemplating suicide, he might have been attempting to climb out of his hotel room, confident in his ability to support his weight, before losing his grip and meeting his untimely death.

Liam tragically lost his life thousands of miles away from home, leaving his family, friends and millions of fans devastated. His beloved son, Bear, was left fatherless in a tragedy that plunged the world into mourning.
