Daniel Kinahan ‘could possibly be damaged out of excessive safety jail’ by outdated Italian mafia allies
The former mobster is locked up in Portlaoise Prison in Ireland as he awaits trial, but crime experts think he could be ‘broken out’ by his long list of former allies

Daniel Kinahan could be “broken out” of his high-security prison ahead of trial by one of his many former allies, a crime expert has claimed.
Notorious mobster Kinahan, 49, is currently languishing in Portlaoise Prison in Ireland as he awaits trial for his alleged role in leading a massive drug trafficking organisation between 2015 and 2017.
The Irishman faced a Dublin court on Sunday after being extradited from Dubai. His family’s cartel is alleged to have raked in nearly £1billion over the years from drug trafficking and organised crime. They are also believed to have strong ties with the Glasgow-based Lyons crime family.

But now a crime expert has suggested Kinahan’s long list of former allies could forge an escape route for the ex-mobster.
Speaking to Gript Media, crime expert Chris Dalby said Kinahan’s alleged links with the Italian mafia and other European crime organisations could mean many people would want to “break him out” of jail.
“Daniel Kinahan helped to create the biggest alliance of drug traffickers in modern European history. He allied with Albanians, Italian mafia and the Balkan mafia to buy cocaine in ridiculously large quantities,” said Dalby.

“So he will have information on the Italian mafia and all these huge organisations. So there’s all this information that he could trade. Once he’s in prison, all these international investigators will be queuing up to talk to him about his former business partners.”
He added: “This is a man who ran an organisation with a documented history of murder, routine use of violence. There is a very credible fear they could break him out. There is also a very credible fear he could be assassinated.”
According to The Sun , he’s being held on the A4 landing of the notorious jail. Although Kinahan was holed up in the United Arab Emirates’ grim Al-Awir Central Prison for four months, Portlaoise will be no walk in the park.
Retired prison officer David McDonald told the Sun: “Kinahan is going from a life of luxury in Dubai to a very different life in Portlaoise Prison. He will have absolutely no control of his life when he’s in Portlaoise. If he wants a Mars bar from the tuck shop, he’ll have to put an order in.”
