A woman has died after falling from a hotel in a popular tourist spot.
The American tourist fell from the 18th floor of the Breathless Cancun Soul Resort in Cancun on the night of Thursday, August 20.
According to reports, her husband tearfully told staff that his wife had done something “outrageous”. The couple are understood to have been guests at the hotel when the woman fell from the multi-storey building.
Cancun is a popular holiday spot in Quintana Roo, Mexico. It is known for its crystal-clear waters and night life.
Hotel security rushed to the scene and found that the woman had fallen around 150ft (over 45 metres).
Emergency services were called and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police are now investigating the tragic incident.
The Mail reported that her husband was arrested.
Just one month earlier, a British tourist drowned after being swept away by strong waves while in the same resort town.
The man, 60, who was swimming with his children at San Miguelito beach when he reportedly got into difficulty after entering the water despite a red flag warning.
His two children were rescued, but he was pulled from the sea unconscious and pronounced dead at the scene.
