A Premier League legend had an absolute hammer of a left foot on the pitch – but he would learn, in public, that similar tactics had no place in the bedroom.
Liverpool and Norway icon John Arne Riise, who celebrated his 46th birthday on Thursday (September 24), had a short-lived romance with former ex-Page 3 model Katie Price – but the evenings they spent together were memorable for all the wrong reasons, according to Katie, aka Jordan.
The British ex-glamour model likened the full-back to a “cordless drill” when the pair got intimate between the sheets during their fling in late 2011 and early 2012, by which time the Champions League winner was turning out for Fulham.

And while Katie was left unsatisfied between the sheets, he did provide her with plenty of material for her memoir, Reborn. Katie wasn’t particularly flattering, delivering a rather amusing assessment: “If I’d needed a shelving unit erected, he’d have been perfect.
“Instead of handling me gently and passionately like most women want, he was like a cordless drill on a multi-speed setting! He reminded me of a red Bosch that I have in my garage,” the withering model penned about the then mystery gentleman.
“Bang…bang…bang, bang, bang. At one point I panicked, thinking, ‘S***, if he doesn’t stop soon, I’m going to be permanently attached to the bed!’ Mr X wasn’t having sex with me, he was having sex at me.”

The mystery lover was only known as Mr X until a national newspaper revealed his identity in 2016. The newspaper wrote: “John Arne Riise is Katie’s mystery Mr X.
“He had always fancied Katie and jumped at the chance to be introduced to her. She took more persuading as he really wasn’t her type but after a while they started hooking up for a few months.
“It fizzled out and she thought it was finally time to talk all about it in her book – and she’s doesn’t have too many complimentary things to say about his moves in the bedroom.”

The glamour model was the one who ended the brief romance after Riise, who famously claimed the Champions League with the Reds on that epic night against AC Milan in Istanbul in 2005, was allegedly caught getting intimate with other women.
A source revealed: “Katie suspected he wasn’t really that into her after a friend spotted him out and about looking cosy with another woman. She was hardly besotted with him so she called it off.”
Riise eventually settled down with Louise Angelica, whom he wed in 2014 – shortly before departing Fulham, though they reportedly split in 2021.
He retired from playing in 2017, before making a brief comeback in 2023 for Avaldsnes – where he managed the women’s side – making one appearance and even scoring.
