Ricky Hatton’s family have been left “in the dark” over his £30million estate, following the sad death of the boxing icon.

‘The Hitman’, who took his own life aged 46 last September, amassed a fortune in the boxing ring as he won multiple world titles. The Manchester fighter used those earnings to build a business empire worth more than £20million, with a further £10m tied up in property investments.

Sadly, he died without leaving a will, leading to an ongoing family dispute and confusion over his multi-million-pound assets. And Hatton’s son, former boxer Campbell, 25, has admitted the family are yet to see a penny of his estate.

He told The Sun on Wednesday, September 30: “My family is still completely in the dark. We’ve had no involvement in my dad’s finances for over 15 years.”

An earlier report from the same outlet details how trustees were appointed to manage Hatton’s estate, but sources close to the family claim communication with the trustees has since broken down.

And one even described the situation as a “complete mess”. The reports adds Hatton had intended for his fortune to pass to his three children, Campbell, 25, and daughters Millie, 14, and Fearne, 12.

And a source said Hatton was “determined to ensure that he had a financial legacy from his incredible career”.

They added: “Everyone who knew and loved Ricky would give anything to have him back. But during his life he’s done a great job of providing for the people he loved the most, his children.”

Earlier this year, Hatton’s house was sold for £1.5m, after £350,000 was knocked off the original asking price.

The mansion, where Hatton’s body had been found, was placed on the market for £1.85m shortly before his sad death – and it was later taken off the market. However, it was relisted for £1.75m, before eventually selling for £1.5m.

Hatton also used his fight earnings to finance a number of businesses, many of them linked to property investments in Hyde, where The Hitman was born.
