Premier League star flips automotive on technique to coaching in shockingly odd second crash
A Premier League star has flipped his car on the way to training – with an almost identical crash involving a team-mate happening just three weeks ago outside the same training ground
A Premier League star has reportedly crashed and flipped his car outside of his team’s training ground before walking away unscathed.
Images were shared on Thursday (October 1) morning of a car lying on its side along the narrow Millhouse Woods Lane route which leads to Hull City’s Cottingham training complex. Pictures have appeared online of a Mercedes vehicle on its side, with complete details not yet available.
While no official confirmation has been provided by police or the club at this point, Daily Star Sport’s sister title Hull Live believes the car belongs to £3.4m summer acquisition Lucas Gourna-Douath, who was behind the wheel and has emerged from the incident without injury. And bizarrely, it’s the second time in just a matter of weeks that a Hull City player has crashed and flipped his car on the same route.

On September 11 this year, Hull’s new £10.5million winger Sorba Thomas emerged unhurt after a collision which left his car upside down on its roof.
Following the crash involving Sorba Thomas’s £60,000 Land Rover Defender last month, when a club staff member, believed to be manager Sergej Jakirovic, was present at the scene, a safety message was issued.
Phil Redshaw, a local councillor released a statement which revealed he had highlighted concerns with the club about the necessity for players to exercise caution when approaching the training ground.
He stated last month: “I wrote to the Hull City club secretary on Sunday asking them to remind players to be careful driving down the road because of the residents’ concerns.
“I wanted them to remind their staff to drive with extra care, because they get new players in every season.”
Millhouse Woods Lane is an extremely narrow road that leads to the club’s training facility, with minimal space for vehicles to pass through, reports Hull Live.
And consequently alerts have been issued previously about the pace some cars have been travelling while navigating the tight section of carriageway.
Gourna-Douath, like Thomas, signed for newly-promoted Hull this summer, from Red Bull Salzburg. The French midfielder has made three appearances for Hull this season, but has only been named in the starting side once.
