Liverpool information: Ryan Gravenberch verdict issued as Andoni Iraola dealt switch blow
Liverpool lost to Manchester City at Anfield as Andoni Iraola’s undefeated run came to an end against the side guilty of 114 charges of breaching Premier League financial rules
Liverpool were put to the sword at Anfield on Sunday afternoon following Ryan Gravenberch’s controversial red card. The Reds had been the better team until the Dutchman was dismissed, allowing Manchester City to run riot.
It was the first time since the guilty verdict on 114 charges of breaching the Premier League’s financial rules, which City have appealed, that Enzo Mareca’s side had been in action – and they were met with a chorus of boos at Anfield. And with the loss on the pitch, Liverpool have taken a blow off it.

Liverpool given Ryan Gravenberch verdict
Jamie Carragher believes Ryan Gravenberch was harshly treated during Liverpool’s encounter with Manchester City after being dismissed following a second yellow card for fouling Jeremy Doku, reports the Mirror.
The Netherlands international had previously been cautioned for a tackle on Elliot Anderson, but Carragher insists that challenge didn’t merit a booking, meaning Gravenberch was unfortunate to see red. He said: “The first was not a yellow, it was so harsh.
“It was a nothing challenge, the referee was far too quick to get the card…The first was the same, the referee was so quick to get a yellow out.”
Meanwhile, Gary Neville commented: “That is very, very soft. Knowing you’re on a yellow and on the wrong side of Doku, does he need to make the challenge? Giving the referee a dilemma!”
Liverpool’s transfer ‘hijacked’
Liverpool had been tracking the progress of Mexican World Cup star Gilberto Mora – but their pursuit might now have been hijacked by Arsenal.
Mora, 18, would have been free to move in January – having recently celebrated his birthday. And despite being linked with the Reds, Mexican outlet El Provenir claims Arsenal have made contact with his current club regarding a potential move.
The 18-year-old caught the eye in the summer, after becoming Mexico’s youngest ever player at the World Cup. Mora is said to have a release clause of just £21.2million in his existing deal, which runs until 2029.
