North Korean troops in Russia ‘gorge’ on grownup websites after getting web for first time

North Korean soldiers who are fighting for Russia are reportedly “gorging” themselves on pornography, a journalist has claimed.

According to Financial Times’ chief foreign affairs commentator Gideon Rachman, military personnel from North Korea are blowing off steam after duty by surfing the web for adult videos. With internet access not generally available in their home country, these soldiers are seemingly using a trip to Russia as an excuse to wreck their internet history and watch a stream of X-rated content.

In a post to X/Twitter, Rachman said: “A usually reliable source tells me that the North Korean soldiers who have deployed to Russia have never had unfettered access to the internet before. As a result, they are gorging on pornography.”

There are reports of over 10,000 North Korean troops in Russia

Although the Financial Times journalist didn’t specify who his “reliable source” was, the thread gathered some steam and has been read over 5.7 million times on the platform as of publication time.

Speaking to Task and Purpose, Army Lieutenant Colonel Charlie Dietz said he “couldn’t confirm any North Korean internet habits or virtual ‘extracurriculars’ in Russia…as entertaining as that sounds.”

One person’s humorous take in the comment section conveyed some pity towards the North Korean soldiers revelling in their new found ‘freedom’.

North Korean soldiers are there reportedly to help in Vladimir Putin’s fight against Ukraine

The Pentagon has estimated up to 10,000 North Korean troops have been deployed to Russia in recent weeks while the two countries’ alliance grows ever closer.

While Kim Jong Un’s exact goal in sending soldiers to bolster Vladimir Putin’s cause remains unclear, reports indicate they are present to help Russian forces in their fight against Ukraine. Neither North Korea’s capital Pyongyang or Moscow has commented on the matter.
