Taylor Swift’s album RELEASED! Fans go wild as The Life of a Showgirl lastly drops and singer shares attractive new pictures
Taylor Swift‘s album, The Life of a Showgirl, is now officially out – and the singer herself shared an assortment of sexy new photos in celebration.
Fans rejoiced as the songbird’s 12th studio album dropped on October 3 across various streaming platforms and in store.
The album — which features her raunchiest song to date — was released just over a month after Swift, 35, first announced it.
In keeping with her pattern of number sequencing, Swift announced the 12-track album at 12.12AM on August 12 before making an unprecedented podcast appearance on her fiance Travis Kelce‘s New Heights to share the album’s cover art, rhinestones and all.
The Life of a Showgirl marks a departure from her previous projects both visually and behind-the-scenes in the recording booth, with the album artwork unveiling a particularly steamier side of Swift, dressed as a sexy Vegas showgirl.
It is also her first album in over a decade that will not feature production by her go-to collaborator and co-songwriter, Jack Antonoff.
Swifties flocked over to X to share their thoughts on the album, with one simply gushing, ‘ALBUM OF THE YEAR.’

Swift seemingly made references to her fiancé Travis Kelce, 35, in some of the tracks, including her raunchiest song to date, titled ‘Wood’ where she sings about his ‘manhood’
And on ‘Wi$h Li$t’ the star sang about wanting to have ‘a couple kids’ with Kelce
There are several clues that Blake Lively (L, pictured in 2023) was the inspiration behind Swift’s (R) new song Cancelled! amid the ongoing It Ends With Us drama
In the chorus, the pop star sings about toxic friends who are more alike than not: ‘Good thing I like my friends cancelled / I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal / Like my whiskey sour / And poison thorny flowers’
‘Did you girl-boss too close to the sun?’ the 14-time Grammy winner asked at another point in the song (pictured in 2024)
Swift seemingly made references to her fiance Travis Kelce in some of the songs on the album such as Opalite.
‘You were dancing through the lightening strikes/Sleepless in the onyx night,’ she sang. Kelce’s October birthstone is opal and appears to be referenced in the title of the song.
In Eldest Daughter, she sings about finding love with Kelce with some of the lyrics being, ‘When you found me I said I was busy/That was a lie’ – a reference to the very start of their romance.
‘When I said I don’t believe in marriage that was a lie/Every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter,’ Swift also sings, referencing herself as the ‘eldest daughter.’
Wi$h Li$t appears to be about the life she wants with the NFL star as she sings, ‘I just want you/Have a couple kids, got the whole block lookin’ like you.
‘I made wishes on all of the stars/Please, God, bring me a best friend/Who I think is hot.’
In the sexy track Wood, the Grammy winner could be heard singing, ‘Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see/His love was the key to open my thighs.’
Other lyrics from the song appear to reference an engagement ring: ‘Girls I don’t need to catch the bouquet to know a hard rock is on the way.’
Swift also appeared to take aim at Scooter Braun’s purchase of her masters from Scott Borchetta six years ago on a track titled Father Figure; Scooter and Scott seen 2019
There are several clues that Blake Lively was the inspiration behind Swift’s new song Cancelled!.
In the chorus, the billionaire pop star sings about toxic friends who are more alike than not: ‘Good thing I like my friends cancelled / I like ’em cloaked in Gucci and in scandal / Like my whiskey sour / And poison thorny flowers.’
The 38-year-old Gossip Girl alum just so happened to serve as the brand ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house’s fragrance, Gucci Première, back in 2012-2013.
Taylor’s reference to ‘whiskey sour’ could easily be about Blake’s liquor company Betty Booze, which manufactures three bourbon-infused canned cocktails including ‘Apple Ginger Sour Cherry.’
Swift’s lyric about ‘poison thorny flowers’ was likely a reference to Lively’s florist character, who owns a shop called Lily Bloom’s in her scandal-ridden movie It Ends with Us, which is at the center of her legal war against director-leading man Justin Baldoni.
Swift also appeared to take aim at Scooter Braun’s purchase of her masters from Scott Borchetta six years ago on a track titled Father Figure.
As the heavily-anticipated album was released Friday, a number of fans online appeared to think Swift was referring to Scott Borchetta – the owner of her ex-record label Big Machine – on the track.
The second track is titled Elizabeth Taylor and Swift appears to reference similarities she has with the late Hollywood starlet, including their love lives often being in the spotlight; late actress seen in 1950

Lyrics on the sharp track include: ‘You made a deal with this devil / Turns out my d***’s bigger… You pulled the wrong trigger / This empire belongs to me / Leave it with me.’
One user said, ‘Father figure being about scott borchetta makes so much sense and yet i never saw it coming,’ while others made clear their spirited support for Swift.
Braun bought the master recordings of Swift’s first six albums in June 2019 in a controversial deal worth an estimated $300 million. The controversial 2019 transaction, which Braun conducted through Ithaca Holdings, was for Swift’s first six albums.
Swift complained six years ago that she wasn’t given a proper opportunity to obtain the masters for herself. However, the singer announced that she finally bought the masters earlier this year.
Another track, titled Elizabeth Taylor, appears to reference similarities Swift has with the late Hollywood starlet, including their love lives often being in the spotlight.
Hours before The Life of a Showgirl officially dropped, all 12 tracks leaked online in low-quality audio across Discord and other platforms.
Within minutes, Swifties were dissecting every verse, from the scathing to the swoon-worthy, sparking feverish speculation about whether she was singing about her fiancé Travis, or rumored industry rivals like Charli XCX and Olivia Rodrigo.
The record marks a major milestone for Swift: her first as an engaged woman, following Kelce’s romantic, garden proposal in August 2025.

The Life of a Showgirl follows Swift’s 2024 record, The Tortured Poets Department, which shattered records before it was even released
It also ushers in a bold new era for the 14-time Grammy winner, who ditched her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff for the first time in over a decade.
Instead, she co-produced the album with pop powerhouses Max Martin and Shellback, pairing her sharpest storytelling with their high-gloss, hit-making touch.
Alongside the music, Swift unveiled a daring new visual aesthetic, embodying a sultry Vegas showgirl for the album’s imagery.
The title itself, she revealed, was inspired by her days juggling her record-breaking Eras Tour, which spanned 21 months, and late-night studio sessions in Sweden.
‘I would do like three shows in a row, have three days off, fly to Sweden, go back to tour — I was physically exhausted but so mentally stimulated,’ Swift recalled on her husband-to-be’s New Heights Podcast over the summer. ‘I was just so excited to be creating.’
In August, Kelce teased to his listeners that he couldn’t stop ‘listening to this album’ and had ‘been dancing throughout the house’ to it.
‘I know she mentioned that it’s gonna be a lot more pop beats, but it’s just still so poetic in her melodies and her references and stuff,’ he assured Swifties. ‘It’s just so much fun to listen to.’
He also gushed his favorite track was Opalite.
Kelce was reportedly only one of five people who have been granted access to the new album which has been kept under wraps in an encrypted folder.
Swift revealed the album’s cover art on Kelce’s podcast New Heights
Others include Swift’s formidable publicist Tree Paine, an unidentified studio engineer, and Max Martin and Shellback who both helped to produce the music.
The Life of a Showgirl follows Swift’s 2024 record, The Tortured Poets Department, which shattered records before it was even released.
Last month, Swift announced she was having a theatrical release party to celebrate her record, which will play across 540 AMC theaters this weekend.
Fans will see the exclusive world premiere of the Fate of Ophelia music video, plus behind-the-scenes footage, lyric videos and personal insights from Swift herself.
The special theatrical release is slated to be 89 minutes long.
It is expected to rake in around $30-$50million, per Deadline – and presale tickets reached $15 million over the span of 24 hours since the event’s announcement.
Ticket prices sit at $12 – which was decided by the award-winning performer herself.
The Life Of A Showgirl also marks Swift’s first album in more than a decade that doesn’t implement production by frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff.
Instead, Swift confirmed she co-produced her new album with pop music heavyweights, Max Martin and Shellback.
Shortly before Martin’s involvement was confirmed, Swift’s eagle-eyed fans noticed that every song on the star’s latest Spotify playlist, which included choice cuts from 1989, Reputation and Red, had been produced by Martin.
Martin used to be a major collaborator with Swift, but the two haven’t worked together since recording music for Reputation, and Martin was notably absent from the sessions to rerecord songs he had previously worked on with Swift.
During her appearance on the New Heights podcast on Wednesday, Swift revealed that she recorded the new album while on her record-breaking Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2025.
The superstar said she made frequent trips to Sweden to work with producer Martin during her rare days off from performing around the globe.
It comes just over a year after Swift released The Tortured Poets Department
‘I would do like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off. I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this.
‘I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,’ she explained.
Kelce, who was seated beside Swift during the interview with his co-host and brother Jason Kelce, added: ‘She was literally living the life of a showgirl.’
‘That’s why I called [the album] that. Nailed it,’ Swift quipped as she playfully patted her boyfriend on the shoulder.
This new album follows Taylor’s previous release, The Tortured Poets Department, which came out in April 2024.
Even before it’s release, the album has already broken a record – Spotify confirmed on August 31 that it had become the most pre-saved album in the history of its Countdown Page.
In the days leading up to The Life Of The Showgirl dropping, fans prepared for the album
The celebrations will continue even in the days after the release, with Swift announcing she will be having a theatrical release party to celebrate her new album.
‘I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirée, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!’ she shared via an Instagram post on Friday.
‘You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single “The Fate of Ophelia”, along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl.’
‘Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged,’ the star added.
She wrapped up the post writing: ‘Showtimes may vary, so check your local listings. Tickets are limited and available at releasepartyofashowgirl.com.’
