Runner dies after collapsing in London half marathon horror at end line

A man who collapsed at the finish line of a London half marathon has died, organisers have said. Kory Russell was taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in central London on Sunday when he collapsed at the finish line in Hyde Park.
Organisers of the event said Mr Russell received specialist medical treatment at the scene before being transferred to hospital by ambulance. In a statement on Tuesday, the organisers said: “With deep sadness, we confirm the death of a participant in the 2025 Royal Parks Half Marathon.
“Everyone involved in the organisation of the Royal Parks Half Marathon would like to express sincere condolences to Kory’s family and friends.
“The family has requested privacy, and no further details will be released in accordance with their wishes.”
The cause of Mr Russell’s death will be established later in a post-mortem examination, organisers confirmed.
