Nurse sees 7ft determine at dying man’s mattress – she froze when she realised who it was

A nurse has made the chilling claim that she witnessed a “7ft Grim Reaper” hovering over a patient’s bed during a night shift. She was monitoring a patient during her shift when she allegedly saw a towering, dark figure cloaked in black just before the patient passed away.
The eerie incident was shared by Dr Andrea O’Connor on her YouTube channel last as part of her ongoing project to gather real-life stories from hospitals worldwide. However, she confessed: “I’ve never come across anything like this.”
Dr O’Connor said: “A nurse was on shift and she had a patient that was very close to dying. He was getting checked on every 15 minutes because he was very afraid…and all of a sudden his anxiety and fear was ramping up.”
“It’s the night shift…she goes in to check on him…but she stops in the doorway because the patient’s laying there and she sees this large 7ft tall dark figure looming and bending over the bed and kind of stretching out. It looked as if he had like a black cloak on.
“She could just see this dark shadowy tall figure looming over him and she’s frozen in the doorway. If you’ve never seen anything like that before, your brain kind of can’t make sense of something it’s never seen and that you don’t expect this to be in the room.
“He didn’t have any family members coming to visit him, there were no friends in the room – there really was no explanation for what she was seeing.”
She revealed that the nurse returned later and witnessed the same phenomenon once more, and believes these enigmatic encounters were behind the patient’s escalating terror. Dr O’Connor explained that the nurse reported her experience to the incoming shift, telling them: “I think I saw the Grim Reaper.
“I believe her – I swear we see things in healthcare you just can’t explain,” the doctor declares, acknowledging she’s heard similar accounts of “dark shadows in the room.”
Nevertheless, she proceeded to offer some theories about what might have actually occurred. “People can hallucinate, people can be stressed and tired, especially when working the night shift – that’s one possibility.”
However, she emphasised that she completely accepts the nurse genuinely believed what she witnessed was the Grim Reaper. The patient passed away later that evening.
The video generated countless responses on YouTube. One viewer commented: “I’m a trauma nurse and former ICU nurse. I’ve seen many things like this in my career. I’m most likely to believe anything a nurse, doctor, etc. would tell me. We’re in a profession that no others could have these experiences.”
Another wrote: “I believe she did see the Grim Reaper! No doubt.” Whilst one shared: “I’ve worked in health care my entire life. Had weird things happen and heard freaky things from co-workers as well.
“The Grim Reaper is real. A very trusted male colleague was freaked out one morning when I joined him on the unit, he was just coming off the night shift.
“Long story short, he had a patient see the Grim Reaper that night and it wasn’t the patient’s first time either. The patient was known to all as a very nasty individual but he had enough self-awareness to know that because of his nastiness and negative life, he was being targeted frequently by The Reaper.
“The patient believed he was being slowly tormented as a form of punishment for the horrible person he was. The man died shortly afterwards.”
