Swingathon founder shares two key guidelines after three visitors kicked out of summer season occasion
Swingathon founder Matthew Cole has revealed the two main unwritten rules that attendees must follow at the UK’s biggest sex festival – and how three people were kicked out at July’s event
Britain’s largest swinger festival Swingathon rolled into town over the summer, leaving a thousand punters thoroughly satisfied after experiencing a 40-person orgy and indulging in butt plug bingo.
In an exclusive chat with your Daily Star, founder Matthew Cole disclosed how “unwritten rules” enable the swinger community to self-regulate. It marked the 37-year-old’s fifth year orchestrating the raunchy revelry, which he established five years ago, and witnessed the biggest turnout yet – approximately 1,000 participants – flocking to a venue in Allington, near Grantham, Lincolnshire.
Matthew, who operates the steamy spectacle full time, explained: “There are lots of unwritten rules that people stick to…. We have a general rule, we do not take photos with people behind you. If you want a selfie with your missus, you make sure you are up against a wall and you’ve not got anyone behind you.
“Everybody respects that because they all want the same thing… They don’t want their family or boss finding out but there are some who are completely open and it isn’t a problem.
“The other main rule is no means no. If I ask you a question and you say no, that’s the end of it. If a guy wants to get with a girl and he keeps pestering her and pestering her, that doesn’t happen because he would be kicked out straight away.”
It was also the first year Matthew brought in security, who were scarcely required except for two incidents.
One ticket holder was ejected after becoming overly “touchy-feely” while two other “lads” attempted to gatecrash.
He explained: “This is the first year we had to ask one single male to leave because he was a bit pushy and a bit touchy-feely. He’s banned now. That’s the end of that.
“We had another couple of lads trying to get in [without tickets]. Not that they were trying to damage anything or pinch anything. They just wanted sex which you can understand if you had that type of festival down the road. They were trying to get over the fence and have a look. We had to kick them out.”
The organiser revealed that security staff were amazed by how “respectful” festival-goers were.
He continued: “But other than that, we get no problems in our festival.
“Our new security guards, they do a lot of big festivals. They said it is the first festival they have done all year and not smelled weed.
“It is the first festival all year that they have not had to push their muscles around. They didn’t have to grab anyone or anything like that. They were very surprised at how respectful the people are and how chill they are.”
