BREAKING Premier League conflict halted after sickening head collision results in worrying scenes

Bournemouth’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa was halted after a sickening head collision.

The two sides had barely been playing for four minutes when a collision between Cherries team-mates Tyler Adams and Adam Smith forced the referee to stop play.

The duo crashed into each other mid-air, and immediately hit the deck as both sets of players showed concern for the pair. There was a lengthy stop as they both were given treatment.

Villa Park broke into a round of applause when Adams and Smith both rose to their feet. Smith appeared to be the worst of the pair – suffering a gory head wound.

He that was taken off the pitch and given further assessment on the touchline but medics deemed him unfit to continue, and he was replaced by Alex Jimenez in the 10th minute.

“Nasty clash between Smith and Adams Both up and walking, good work from medics,” one fan shared on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Respect to the Villa players who went straight over to Smith and Adams,” a second said. As a third posted: “Horrifying they let Tyler Adams continue. He should have been subbed off along with Adam Smith. That was a brutal head to head collision!”
