Trump Or Dr. Evil? President Brutally Mocked By British Tabloid Over BBC Controversy

Donald Trump’s attempts to sue the BBC for $1 billion has made him something of a laughing stock because of one rather unflattering comparison.

The president set his lawyers on the corporation after the BBC was accused of “doctoring” a Panorama episode which showed Trump’s speech to his supporters ahead of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots.

Trump’s legal team wants the BBC to apologize, issue a retraction and “appropriately compensate” the president — to the tune of a billion big ones, no less.

The BBC has until Friday to respond to his threat.

But the president did not have to wait that long to see what the public response was.

The front page of the Daily Star on Tuesday said it all by comparing Trump to none other than Dr. Evil, the main antagonist in the Austin Powers series.

Dr. Evil — played by Mike Myers — is a parody of villain from James Bond films, and usually tries to take over the world.

In one particularly famous clip from the 1997 classic, ‘Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery,’ Dr. Evil suggests holding the world ransom for $1 million — only realizing that number alone does not sound impressive enough, quickly bumping it up to $100 billion.

Trump’s call for $1 billion from the publicly-funded BBC — belonging to one of America’s closest allies — clearly struck the Daily Star as a fair comparison.

And the Star was not the only one, either, judging by the response on X…

But, for Trump, it’s not quite the vast sum it is for most of the general public.

According to a Forbes report from September, he is already worth $7.3 billion, having added $3 billion over the last year alone.

However, legal experts have questioned whether the president is still able to make a defamation claim as the Panorama episode is more than a year old.

They’ve also said it will be difficult to prove that Trump’s reputation was destroyed by the footage considering he has already faced several other scandals on the world stage.
