Jungle favorite Coleen Rooney provides secret recommendation to Angry Ginge forward of I’m a Celeb
Streaming star, Angry Ginge – whose real name is Morgan Birtwistle – is the favourite to win the show and has revealed former jungle campmate Coleen had taken him under her wing
Former Jungle favourite Coleen Rooney has been giving secret advice to Angry Ginge as he gears up for I’m a Celebrity.
The streaming star, who is the favourite to win the show, revealed that Coleen had taken him under her wing. Coleen went down a storm with viewers last year and was runner-up to Danny Jones.
He said: “I’ve had some advice off Coleen as well, so that was good… some tips and tricks while we’re in there.” But Ginge says he is keeping her jungle playbook strictly under wraps and added: “I’m not going to be sharing it, because I feel as though once I share it, that advice will be nullified – therefore I won’t be able to use it.”
Coleen’s husband Wayne, meanwhile, is fully embracing the chance to pile on the pressure from back home.
He said: “He was buzzing when I told him I was up for it. He said he can’t wait and he’ll be voting for me to do trials as well. So at least I know I’ve got the backing of them to make me do trials.”
When asked if pals Luke Littler and James Maddison would be voting to see him suffer too, Ginge replied: “Yeah, pretty much every single one you’ve just named basically said they’re going to make sure I try and do the trials.
“And then Maddison just said he basically hopes I do every single trial.”
Despite his star-studded circle, the Twitch favourite insists he still does not see himself as a celebrity and admits walking into camp alongside big names will be one of the most intimidating parts of the experience.
“I think the main thing I’m nervous about is meeting the rest of the cast,” he said. “Just because I’ve never classed myself as a celebrity. So going up and meeting other people that actually are celebrities, that’s quite nerve-wracking in itself.
“I’ve got a feeling I might get a little bit of imposter syndrome, and then hopefully it eases off the longer we’re in there.”
He is also braced for the Aussie climate to wreak havoc with his famously pale complexion.
“Especially myself and my ginger hair!” he laughed. “Yeah, we have. I’ve whacked on factor 50 today – and that’s just because I stayed in!”
And while the show will catapult him to a different audience, he insists he will not be turning his back on the platform that made his name.
“I’ll always stay loyal,” he said. “I’ve always lived my life with the saying, ‘Never forget where you came from’.
“So no matter how this goes, I’ll never forget where I came from and I’ll always stay loyal to Twitch.”
