M6 horror as ‘foolish’ supply driver filmed using e-bike casually down motorway

This is the shocking moment a delivery driver on an e-bike brazenly cruises along the M6 motorway close to Birmingham.
A Royal Mail truck is compelled to reduce speed before pulling out to pass the bicycle as it travels in the inside lane.
Mobile phone video captures the rider with his hood pulled up as he is branded “brave but silly” by users online.
The horrifying clip was shared on Facebook shortly after 7pm on Friday, November 21, and has prompted dozens of comments.
According to The Highway Code, it’s against the law for e-bikes to be ridden on motorways.
They’re permitted on other roads provided they comply with certain criteria and don’t exceed 15.5mph, reports Birmingham Live.
West Midlands Police have been informed about the incident but have yet to make an official statement.
The 31-second video sparked reactions across social media platforms.
One person commented: “Brave but silly.”
A different user said: “These guys are idiots.”
Another posted: “No way. Must have his truck nav on.”
The incident comes after theM6 near Stoke-on-Trent saw a driver going the wrong way in his car and was “inches from a head on collision”.
Police received more than thirty 999 calls about the incident and said it was a miracle nobody was injured.
Staffordshire Road Crime Team posted on Facebook: “This evening, we received in excess of 30x 999 calls reporting this vehicle travelling the wrong way on the M6 from J15 (south on the north). We immediately closed the motorway at J14 Northbound, ready to put ourselves in harms way to protect the public.
“The vehicle travelled over 6km before eventually stopping in lane 4 inches from a head on collision. Miraculously, nobody was injured, and no damage was caused.
“The confused driver has temporarily surrendered their driving licence to us, pending a full review by the DVLA and medical professionals. We’d like to thank everyone for their swift actions, 999 calls and for adhering to motorway signals.”
