Alexandra Saper was subjected to a campaign of terror after after Rob Keating from West Sussex followed her to Bali and sent her messages threatening to kidnap and rape her

A travel influencer was bombarded with hundreds of emails and videos by a stalker who to threatened to kidnap and rape her. American, Alexandra Saper was targeted by Brit, Rob Keating who even followed her to Bali and sent chilling pictures from locations she frequented.

The 40-year-old of Old Crawley Road, Horsham, West Sussex even sent her a picture of a body in a suitcase alongside videos of him threatening to do the same to her. Today, Keating was found guilty at Portsmouth Crown Court of two counts of stalking involving fear of violence.

Judge Michael Bowes KC issued a hospital order to allow for further psychiatric evaluation of Keating. A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson revealed that Keating initially reached out to the travel influencer via Instagram in June 2022, subsequently bombarding her with “relentless and alarming messages” which prompted her to block him.

Despite being blocked, he persisted in sending emails to her personal address, including screenshots proving he was still viewing her Instagram content through covert accounts.

The police spokesperson confirmed the victim reported receiving hundreds of emails and 30 videos from Keating over a six-month period.

The spokesperson stated: “In December 2022, she received an email from Keating in which he threatened to kidnap her and sent links to videos he had made further threatening to kidnap and rape her.

“He also sent her a photo of a body in a suitcase, alongside videos of him threatening to do the same to her.

“Keating threatened to travel to Bali, Indonesia, where the woman lives to kidnap her and began sending her evidence that he had obtained flight tickets and a visa to Indonesia.

“This then escalated into sending photos from locations in Bali that she frequented, as well as from locations near to her address.

“After the woman’s friends saw Keating in person close to her address, the woman fled to a friend’s address and contacted local police, before later leaving the country fearing for her safety.”

Keating, who had previously resided in Havant, Hampshire, was apprehended at Gatwick airport on March 6, 2023, yet despite being under investigation, he made contact with Ms Saper once more over a year later.

The police spokesperson stated: “He contacted the woman again and posted to his own Instagram account a video about the woman, as well as screenshots of flights to Bali with the caption ‘Round Two’.”

Keating was subsequently apprehended once more on 11 November 2024.

Addressing the court, the judge said: “In the case of the defendant Robert Keating, sentencing is adjourned based on the reports of two forensic psychiatrists, each recommends an interim hospital order for further assessment.

“Having regard to the criteria, I received the appropriate written evidence that the offender is suffering from a mental disorder and it is appropriate the order is made and a bed is available today.

“I am going to make the order today for 12 weeks.”

The judge scheduled another hearing for 13 February 2026, to provide an update on the assessment.

Stephen Garbett, defending, referred to a report on Keating and expressed his concerns, stating: “I am concerned about the assessment of risk, this wasn’t charged as a violence offence and it was never put by the prosecution that this would have occurred.”
