The businessman has previously faced calls to be stripped of his OBE after saying someone “should kill” London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Following his latest remarks, Labour chair Anna Turley MP told The Mirror : “It should come as no surprise that one of Nigel Farage’s top backers is more interested in talking down our country than fixing it. There’s nothing patriotic about encouraging young people to leave Britain.”

Mr Mullins, who founded the Pimlico Plumbers empire, wrote on Twitter /X: “I think Dubai will set up a program to get many youngsters from the UK into Dubai. I really hope they do to give youngsters a future. There is no future in the UK for them.”

He later said: “I’m proud to say I will be part of setting up something in Dubai to encourage youngster from the UK to move there and have a future, better lifestyle And most of all safer.”

Ms Turley said: “Labour is focused on fixing the issues the Tories left behind, rebuilding opportunities for young people and making Britain a place where everyone can build a secure future – not telling the next generation to give up on it.”

Responding to Mr Mullins’ posts, Labour MP Rosie Wrighting wrote: “Not what you expect from someone with an OBE, encouraging young Brits to move abroad. I love our country; let’s champion Britain, not talk it down.”

In May Mr Mullins, who has said he left the UK because of a Labour “tax grab”, said he was weighing up putting himself forward for public office. He told the Daily Mail: “The more Reform progress the more I want to get involved with them, and I’d undoubtedly consider coming back for a by-election or to run for a council seat.”

He said in January that Mr Farage had personally asked him to stand for office. Mr Mullins came under fire over incendiary comments about London Mayor Mr Khan in 2022, as well as a “misogynistic” comment about Carol Vorderman and accusations of a racist remarks at the British Curry Awards.

He revealed that the Forfeiture Committee had written to him indicating that he could lose his OBE. Officials wrote: ““While you apologised for your remarks in each case, the committee feels that this is a troubling pattern of behaviour.

“This behaviour is not of the standard expected of an honours recipient. The committee is therefore minded to recommend to His Majesty that your OBE be revoked.”

He claimed to have been targeted for political reasons. Mr Mullins sold his stake in the company he set up in 2021 for £145million.
