Brave lady fights off knife-wielding attacker as male companion flees behind wall
Dramatic footage showed the horrifying moment an attacker was viciously fought away by the brave woman whilst her male companion was left fearing for his life behind a wall
This is terrifying moment a knife-wielding attacker takes on a lone woman whilst another tourist is seen fleeing behind a wall. The woman bravely is able to fight off the attack, all while the man is seen cowering in shame.
Dramatic CCTV footage of the event went viral after the woman was able to fend off the crazed man, as he lunged at her with a knife. Meanwhile her male companion did little to help her, choosing instead to flee.
Since then, the woman has been praised for her bravery in standing up to the knife-wielding criminal. However, the man was less fortunate and was lambasted for not getting involved or taking on the man himself.
According to the New York Post, the video begins with a pair of young backpackers stopping into what appears to be a bureau de change in the city of Armenia in Colombia. The duo can be seen chatting, with both appearing to be in a good mood as they transfer their money into Colombian pesos.
It’s at this moment that a thug appears brandishing a weapon — potentially a knife. In the brazen attack, the man appears to stab the woman’s backpack off her body, having it fall to the ground.
However, the defiant woman grabs the bag and launches at the man, bringing out her claws to scratch him and shove him away in self-defence. Meanwhile, the man can then be seen ducking her moves and hides behind the wall and moving onto the sidewalk in order to the fight to carry on.
The man did appear to step forward in a failed attempt to square up against the assailant, but eventually wimps out and never actually step in to stop the attack. In total, he watches the altercation unfold for a full fifteen seconds, seemingly standing there and doing nothing.
After this, another man tries to step in to try and stop the attack, but also backs, leaving the woman to stop the robbery all by herself. Eventually, one person does end up getting involved by taking off their motorcycle helmet and smashing it into the thug’s head.
Another three people then jump in on the pile-up, grabbing the attempted thief and slamming him down on the ground. But even when the attacker is on the ground being given the one-two, the ginger man never joins in the attack.
Eventually the thief was let go and he ran away, leaving the tourist to comfort the woman as they process what just happened to him. Details surrounding the pair’s relationship are currently hazy, and it is not even known if the duo are actually a couple or not.
However, viewers were left horrified as they watched the man refuse to step in and try to fend off the attacker from the woman. One scathing comment left by a user read: “White Knight Jimmy just stood there like a goofball and did nothing.”
“Texas got rid of PornHub so that guy’s the biggest p**** I’ve seen in a while,” another wrote. But others praised the woman’s bravery adding that she was able to fight off the man herself, even though she did get extra reinforcements.
“I’m loving how it came together once half of the street showed up to collectively enforce the lack of tolerance for such horse s***,” one person said. “The [rescuer] helped give those gringos an unforgettable story,” wrote another.
