The first person to be banished from Celebrity Traitors has been revealed.

Last week’s episode of the BBC competition, which has launched its first-ever celebrity spin-off, ended on a dramatic cliffhanger at the round table.

The stars were in the middle of casting their votes to uncover who they thought the Traitor was – after Paloma Faith became the first to be ‘murdered’ in plain sight.

Now, during Wednesday night’s episode, Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway ended up tied with YouTube star Niko Omilana, both receiving three votes and facing the first elimination of the series alongside Tameka Empson.

Ultimately, it was Niko who was sent home after his fellow contestants were convinced he was a Traitor.

Standing in front of his co-stars, he said: ‘First thing first, I can’t believe I’m out so quickly.

He continued: ‘But it’s been an honour getting to know every single one of you. You’re all great people.

‘I can now reveal that this whole time I’ve been honest… and I’m a faithful.’

It comes after Celebrity Traitors fans were left in uproar as Alan Carr murdered his best friend Paloma Faith last week.

Comedian Alan and his fellow Traitors, chat show host Jonathan Ross and singer Cat Burns, were tasked to ‘murder’ in plain sight.

Alan had to murder a faithful by using the pollen of a poison lily and touching someone’s face.

After finding the perfect moment in the kitchen, he asked Paloma ‘You’ve got a hair on your face’ before subtly touching her face to adjust her hair.

Fans fumed on X as they reacted to the murder: ‘I did NOT expect Paloma Faith to be the first person murdered on The Traitors! Also, Jonathan Ross is right: Alan Carr needs to toughen up. Alan Carr… Toughen up!’,

‘Paloma no Faith in Alan Carr anymore #CelebrityTraitors’,

‘You mean to tell me, the producers managed to cast thee Paloma Faith only for her irl friend Alan Carr to murder her on in the first couple of days?’,

Standing in front of his co-stars, he said: ‘First thing first, I can’t believe I’m out so quickly’

He continued: ‘But it’s been an honour getting to know every single one of you. You’re all great people. I can now reveal that this whole time I’ve been honest… and I’m a faithful’

The rest of the cast were left shocked with the revelation

‘I love Alan Carr but he wish he hadn’t killed Paloma Faith. She’s a great character and would’ve been brilliant to watch’,

‘My reaction when Alan Carr murdered Paloma Faith’,

‘I CAN’T BELIEVE ALAN CARR MURDERED PALOMA FAITH #TheTraitorsUK #CelebrityTraitors’

Asked by Claudia how he feels about Paloma ‘dying’, Alan said: ‘Well I think we’re all going to miss her really’.

‘We will avenge her death!’, Jonathan added.

Alan added: ‘We really did have a bond. I think Paloma’s murder has thrown everyone off myself. I’m getting ‘are you alright, I know Paloma was close to you’.

Fans were left unconvinced Alan has what it takes to be a Traitor after he appeared to laugh after being chosen on Tuesday’s debut episode.

Alan couldn’t help but giggle when the TV host tapped him on the shoulder while all the celebrities were blindfolded around the table.

The comedian admitted he’s worried about his chances of going undetected by his fellow celebrities.

Speaking to the camera, he said: ‘I have a sweating problem and I can’t keep a secret. What am I going to do? It’s a weight burning on my shoulders, I’m so nervous.’

Alan even proclaimed he was ‘worse than Linda!’, referring to series three contestant Linda Rands who memorably looked right at Claudia when she addressed the traitors in front of the entire group, causing eventual winner Jake Brown to suspect her.

Viewers took to X to react to the selection of Traitors, with many predicting Alan won’t manage to avoid detection because of his reaction to being chosen.

They wrote: ‘Alan Carr is gonna be the worst Traitor ever, so obvious’… ‘Alan Carr as a Traitor is going to be absolute box office stuff.’
