The actor snaffled a private copy of the Radiohead tune which never made the film’s final cut and ‘found it on his phone’ a few days ago
Daniel Craig says the best Bond song is one we’ve never even heard. The actor snaffled a private copy of the Radiohead tune which never made the film’s final cut and now he can’t stop listening to the banger.
Asked about his favourite music in his spy film franchise, he said: “The one that Radiohead did and was never used. They’d written one already – a Bond song.
“Because they played it on an album they couldn’t use it. So they wrote another one. I have both of them. I found it on my phone the other day.”
He also praised Adele’s Skyfall as among his favourites too – ahead of Sam Smith, Billie Eilish, Jack White and Chris Cornell who all had title tracks in his films.
The 57-year-old said: “It is hard to knock Adele. Just having a female voice at the beginning of the movie was so important.”
The action man is the longest-serving Bond, racking up 15 years as 007 and later becoming an executive producer on the last film No Time To Die.
Amazon bosses and director Denis Villeneuve are writing a new script and hunting for the face to play the iconic spy role in a new film. But nonchalant Daniel is past caring about who will take on the mantle as the next lead sleuth.
He said: “I don’t want to think about it anymore. Because it took up a huge part of my life. It was just a glorious, glorious, glorious experience. But I have got to move on.”
He admitted he’s also let himself go a bit since stepping down as Bond. But he would never go under the knife like other Hollywood celebs.
The star said: “I don’t have that body. I have another body. It is a slightly older body. I have nothing against surgery. People can do what they want to do.
“The sad thing is there is only so much you can do with the skull, you know? It is a skull at the end of the day. I don’t have strong feelings about it.”
