Harley D, 35, from Northamptonshire, has spoken publicly for the first time about her two very different careers – one as a builder and the other as a Babestation call girl
A hardworking mum has taken on the dual roles of a builder by day and a Babestation call girl by night following the tragic death of her husband.
Harley D, 35, opened up about her unique career combination where she tirelessly grafts around the clock to support her two young children.
The industrious beauty runs her own construction business, but due to escalating material costs, she now tops up her earnings by working shifts at a phone sex channel.
Reflecting on her journey from “hell and back” in a previous chat with Daily Star, she shared: “When my husband passed away, my dad said to me you’ve only got two choices in life and you either sink or you swim.
“My son was seven at the time when his dad died and I just thought you either do it or you don’t. In the end, you’re nothing but a story, so I might as well make it a f***ing good one.
“I had no choice but to be in survival mode and now I have two children and want them to see a strong and independent mum and never want my children to say they didn’t have what they wanted because they didn’t have a dad.
“Sometimes I struggle, but I don’t have time to think about the struggle. You know how strong you are when you have been through tough times. I’m not going to say it was easy, and I have gone through therapy and things to get to where I am now.
“But I am damn proud of how I am as a mum and as a workaholic. I just think you don’t know if you don’t try it.”
Harley D was just 27 when tragedy struck – her first husband passed away, and her home was subsequently flooded.
Left to raise her children alone, money was scarce, and whilst she could stretch to buying carpet, hiring someone to install it was out of the question.
So she mastered the craft herself before later picking up bricklaying skills after accidentally backing into her driveway wall.
The resourceful tradeswoman quickly discovered she had a knack for multiple trades and eventually launched her own building firm.
When asked what she relishes most about working in the sector, she explained: “I love being on the site and I love the banter and the humour.
“And I don’t know if I should say this, but on the site, everything goes, and you can say what you like. If you go and make an inappropriate comment, it is not frowned upon.”
However, with material costs “going through the roof” Harley D found herself grafting seven days a week on projects that would stretch over months.
By completion, she was scarcely making ends meet, prompting a mate to suggest she try cam work to supplement her earnings.
She decided to give it a go and has since become a beloved regular on Babestation.
But when quizzed about juggling her commitments, she chuckled: “I’m tired a lot. But I am lucky because I am hyperactive and bubbly and I usually start at Babestation at 5am.
“Then sometimes I will pick up my youngest and then I will go to a site and check out the job and see if they need anything or I could be working with them. So it’s usually mornings at Babestation and I am on site in the afternoon and obviously everything else that comes with being a mum.”
Despite juggling both roles constantly, Harley D has mapped out her future plans and dreams of globe-trotting once she reaches 40.
And, regardless of managing her dual careers, she revealed that she enjoys both pursuits and believes they share more common ground than people might expect.
She said: “It’s funny because I actually think that I enjoy Babestation for the same reason I like building which is crazy.
“But they call it Banterstation because it is just fun and of course it is resolved around sex but I kind of feel like both worlds merge into one.”
