Police have warned members of the public to “not approach” a suspect after launching an urgent manhunt following a stabbing.
Oumar Traore, aged 17, is wanted for questioning after a “violent attack” saw the death of a 19-year-old male in Handsworth, Birmingham.
Yassin Alama was stabbed on Hutton Road at around 5.20pm yesterday (November 16). He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
West Midlands Police say they have made a number of attempts to arrest Traore following the horrific incident.
However, they are now calling on the public to help track him down, but warned anyone who sees the suspect to not approach him.

Police say Yassin’s family has been “left absolutely devastated” by the horrific incident as officers are looking to support them.
Jenny Birch, from our Homicide team, said: “This was a violent attack in the street which has sadly resulted in the death of Yassin.
“Yassin’s family have been left absolutely devastated by what has happened, and we are doing everything we can to support them, and to give them answers.
“We need to find and arrest Traore as soon as possible. If anyone sees him, or has information about where he might be, they should not approach him but call us straight away on 999, quoting log 3135 of 16 November.”

West Midlands Police announced it would be using Section 60 powers from 4pm today until 7am tomorrow (November 18) in an area of Handsworth. The area was highlighted in an image on their website (which you can also see above).
Section 60 gives police extra powers to “stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds”.
Police also confirmed that extra officers were in the area today, including high-visibility patrols.
Officers have also been speaking to community members to offer reassurance and listen to their concerns. following the attack.
