A cross-eyed sex attacker who made wild claims about police and their jury being hypnotised has finally been jailed. The defendant, named in court as Natalie Wolf, but known to their teenage victim as Ryan Haley, was found guilty of sexual activity with a child.

As Wolf, 47, of Shipley Walk, Byker, Newcastle, was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court, the victim revealed the crime’s traumatic impact while the judge rejected Wolf’s conspiracy theories.

In her impact statement to the court, the victim said: “I know you as Ryan Haley, a man who sexually abused me. There are few things more isolating than living in a body you don’t feel safe in. I’ve carried shame, self-doubt and a sense of disconnection from myself.

“I’m left carrying what they did. It made my body feel like a battlefield. Watching them celebrate their life and body feels like salt in my wounds. While I’ve watched Ryan move forward, I’m left carrying what he did.”

Passing sentence, Judge Gavin Doig said he had read the defendant’s notes claiming a conspiracy involving the court, prison service, barristers, solicitors, police and many other people, reports Chronicle Live.

“You make allegations in the notes, most of which I won’t repeat, including the suggestion someone was hypnotising the jury or that the jury was planted with people that didn’t like you so they convicted you,” the judge said.

“You suggest the victim hypnotised the police officer. You are not the victim of a conspiracy. You are not the victim at all. [The woman] is the victim and the sooner you accept that, the better it will be going forward.

“You will be released from prison in due course. I hope you are able to move on and receive the help you need.” He told the defendant they would face further problems by continuing to believe they “are the victim of a conspiracy and nothing is your fault”.

Judge Doig added: “I pay tribute to [the victim]. It’s no easy thing to come forward with an allegation like this. I commend her for doing so and I wish her well for the future.”

Wolf, who was not represented in court by a lawyer, accused the victim of lying. They said someone else had committed the crime and indicated a wish to appeal. They added: “I’m not even sexually attracted to females in that way.”

The court heard Wolf has 13 previous convictions but none for any sexual offences. The court heard Wolf has a personality disorder and mental health issues.
