Vin Diesel has made a major claim about Cristiano Ronaldo and the Fast franchise, as the two were spotted sharing smiles in an Instagram post earlier this week
Vin Diesel has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo has been written a role in the upcoming Fast film franchise instalment.
The Hollywood star posted a photo of himself with the Portuguese football legend on Instagram this week, showing them beaming as they flashed thumbs up gestures. Captioning the image, Vin Diesel – whose real name is Mark Sinclair – wrote: “Everyone asked, would he be in the Fast mythology…I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him…@cristiano.”
Social media quickly went into overdrive following the photograph, with countless users flocking to the comments section to share their enthusiasm about seeing Ronaldo trade the football pitch for the big screen. One quipped: “We got Cristiano in Fast x before GTA 6 TOO, this is wild,” while another commented: “When legends meet expect greatness.”
The upcoming Fast series entry takes the form of Fast and Furious 11, which is anticipated to be marketed as ‘Fast Forever’. It’s also predicted to be the concluding film of the saga, which originally debuted in 2001 and featured Vin Diesel, alongside Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker.
The street racing franchise is scheduled to release its next chapter in 2026, despite recent postponements, and cinema enthusiasts might witness Ronaldo’s involvement, should Vin Diesel’s claims prove accurate. It follows Ronaldo’s earlier announcement this year that he would be venturing into the realm of cinematography, reports the Mirror.
Back in April, the 40-year-old shared that he had established his own film studio in partnership with British film producer and director, Matthew Vaughn. A statement posted on his X account at the time read: “Cristiano Ronaldo loves movies; Matthew Vaughn loves sport – and they both love a good story.
“Both have been disruptive champions at their game and will now combine the world of sport and storytelling through the launch of UR MARV, an independent joint venture film studio embracing innovative technology, with a nod to tradition.

“Through UR MARV, Ronaldo and Vaughn have financed and produced two action films together and are about to start a third in the same series. They look forward to announcing the first release soon.”
This development comes as Ronaldo appears to be approaching the twilight of a remarkable footballing career that has established him amongst the sport’s all-time greats, following legendary spells with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Al-Nassr.
Currently tied to the Saudi club until 2027, supporters anticipate next summer’s World Cup in North America will mark his last major outing with the Portuguese national side. Nevertheless, the striker’s involvement in the tournament was thrown into doubt last month following his dismissal for an elbow on Dara O’Shea during a qualifier against Ireland.
While a violent conduct charge typically results in a three-match suspension, Ronaldo’s second and third match bans have been put on hold for a year. This means that after missing Portugal’s final qualifier against Armenia, he won’t miss any of his country’s group stage matches at next summer’s tournament unless he repeats the offence.
FIFA released a statement, which read: “If Cristiano Ronaldo commits another infringement of a similar nature and gravity during the probationary period, the suspension set out in the disciplinary decision shall be deemed automatically revoked and the remaining two matches must be served immediately.”
