Tech influencer Lamarr Wilson passed away at the age of 48 – with his ‘heartbroken’ family confirming his death on December 13.
Wilson had been known for his product reviews from numerous tech brands and had surpassed over 1 million followers on TikTok alone.
He passed away at his residence last month on November 21 and his cause of death was determined to be suicide, per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office public records.
Loved ones confirmed his death in a Facebook post shared on Saturday, December 13 while reflecting on the late content creator’s achievements and legacy.
‘It is with deep feelings of hurt pain that The Family of LaMarr Wilson would like to make this statement regarding our beloved Family member LaMarr Wilson passing and what he aspired to become with YouTube, Google and All his Social Media Platforms he loved working with.’
Wilson had been known as the ‘unboxing guy’ and he also shared knowledge on not only tech, but also gaming and entertainment.

The statement further read that the media influencer ‘is and was the “Go To” member of the Wilson Family.’
Wilson had been ‘appointed to be a Judge for the upcoming @CES Innovation Awards on January 4, 2026 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.’
Before relocating to Los Angeles, Wilson had been a ‘Tech Educator in Chicago & Milwaukee Public Schools using these and IT skills to help staff & many students.
‘LaMarr created his opportunity to further his skills and career moving to Los Angeles, California and grew and expanded into the Tech Personality he later became.’
His family concluded that they have been left ‘heart broken with this news of LaMarr’s passing.’
They added that he ‘had so many projects in the making, scheduled and contracted with various tech and media companies requesting his expertise and all of these accomplishments and achievements he could add to his Portfolio as he mentioned on one of his social media platforms.
‘We have so much love for his manage Team Agents as well all the fans he mentored helped or inspired.’
Wilson first launched his YouTube channel in 2008 – before transitioning over to short-form vertical videos in 2021.

The content creator’s last post was shared to both Instagram and TikTok on November 12 as he offered his ‘Holiday Tech Gift Guide.’
And a few months earlier in October, Wilson had posted a selfie as he celebrated his 48th birthday.
‘Today is my 48th birthday & I’m down 48 pounds! It shouldn’t take a health scare like I had this year to get your #%&$ together, but hey, it worked, & I’m losing it all naturally, now that I figured out the discipline.’
He added, ‘I feel good, I’m genuinely at peace, and a key is keeping people out of my life who are determined to disrupt it with their inner chaos.
‘We’re not here on this Earth long enough to tolerate that. Don’t let that happen to you! Have a great day & I’ll see you in video!’

Earlier this year in June, he made an appearance at VidCon 2025 and took part in a panel to discuss cross-generational content.
Wilson had uploaded a snippet of him taking part in the panel on Instagram and offered advice in the caption to his followers.
‘From my @vidcon panel about cross-generational content: Never be in competition or threatened by others as a creator.’
He added, ‘No one can do what you do the way YOU do it. It’s as simple as that. You’re in competition with yourself and your last piece of content…’
Fans shared their condolensces on his final post on both Instagram and TikTok upon learning the news of his death.
One penned, ‘rest in peace man you was always so energetic and entertaining,’ while another typed, ‘Rest easy Lamarr.’
‘Rest In Peace beloved Lamarr Wilson. You have always cheered me up in a dark moment of my life,’ a follower wrote.
They added, ‘You shaped my childhood and you were such a funny and lovable human. I hope you’re resting easy in heaven my dear friend. We love you so much.’
