Liverpool’s current injury list and potential return dates ahead of their clash with Leeds United…

  1. Alexander Isak (fractured fibula/ankle): The record signing underwent surgery after a heavy challenge from Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven. He is expected to be out for several months , though Arne Slot is hopeful he will return before the end of the 2025/26 season.
  2. Wataru Endo (ankle): Sustained an injury in early December. He is expected to be out for a few more weeks, with a potential return in mid-January 2026 and is not currently expected to be available to face Leeds on New Year’s Day.
  3. Joe Gomez (hamstring): Currently sidelined with a muscle issue. He is expected to be back in training in early January 2026 with a return to the matchday squad not too far away.
  4. Giovanni Leoni (ACL): The summer signing from Parma suffered a serious knee injury on his Liverpool debut against Southampton in the Carabao Cup back in September. He is expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the season, with a return likely in the summer of 2026 .
  5. Mohamed Salah is not injured but is currently unavailable as he is away representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and is not expected to return until some next time month.
  6. Dominik Szoboszlai is also available again after serving a one-match suspension for picking up five yellow cards this season, which forced him to miss the win over Wolves.
  7. Cody Gakpo and Conor Bradley had been injury doubts for Liverpool before the win over Wolves. Both players made cameo appearances from the bench and will be expected to feature against Leeds on New Year’s Day.
