Donald Trump is at 2000/1 to replace Ruben Amorim as Manchester United boss following his shock sacking as The Reds’ head coach.

Ladbrokes jokingly gave the odds for the Orange Manbaby, 79, taking the helm at the troubled club after Amorim’s exit was announced.

I’m a Celeb winner Angry Ginge, who’s good pals with fellow Red Devils supporting Luke Littler, is at 1000/1 with the bookmakers to take Amorim’s spot.

It makes his accession to the job more likely than the 5000/1 odds given for Leicester City to win the 2016 Premier League.

Amorim, 40, left after a power struggle with the hierarchy of Man Utd over transfer policy. He demanded the team’s recruitment department “do their job” after Sunday’s draw at Leeds.

More realistic names in the hat to step into his shoes include Crystal Palace’s Oliver Glasner. Sources say the team is leaning towards a summer appointment of another head coach.

United issued a statement confirming Amorim’s sacking. It read: “Ruben Amorim has departed his role as Head Coach of Manchester United. Ruben was appointed in November 2024 and led the team to a UEFA Europa League Final in Bilbao in May.

“With Manchester United sitting sixth in the Premier League, the club’s leadership has reluctantly made the decision that it is the right time to make a change. This will give the team the best opportunity of the highest possible Premier League finish.

“The club would like to thank Ruben for his contribution to the club and wishes him well for the future.”

They also confirmed Darren Fletcher will take over the Red Devils reigns on an interim basis – starting with their clash against Burnley on Wednesday evening.

Following Sunday’s stalemate at Leeds, Amorim suggested there is friction with his colleagues, making it clear he sees himself as the “manager” rather than the “coach” at United.

“It’s going to be like this for 18 months or when the board decide to change,” Amorim continued. “That was my point, I want to finish with that. I’m not going to quit. I will do my job until another guy is coming here to replace me.”
