Three teenagers killed in Bolton crash pictured after a whole lot pay respects at funeral

The three teenagers who tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision in Bolton, along with a taxi driver, have been pictured as the investigation into the horrific crash continues.

The incident occurred on Wigan Road at approximately 12.45am on Sunday (January 11), when a red Seat Leon collided head-on with a Citroen C4 Picasso taxi.

Four men – the driver and two passengers in the Seat, and the driver of the Citroen – sadly died in the accident. The Mail Online has now published pictures of the three teenagers from the Seat: Mohammed Jibrael Mukhtar, 18, Farhan Patel, 18, and 19-year-old Mohammed Danyaal.

It comes after hundreds reportedly attended their funeral yesterday afternoon (January 13) at the central mosque in Bolton, following a post bt Janaza Announcements Facebook page.

The taxi driver, who worked for Uber, had been identified as 54-year-old Masrob Ali. Mr Ali’s family, who revealed he had been a taxi driver for roughly a decade, remembered him as ‘the gentlest soul’, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police provided an update on Monday, stating that five passengers from both vehicles are still receiving treatment in hospital. Among them is a 29-year-old woman from the Citroen who sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.

Also hospitalised are a 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man with serious injuries, a 29-year-old man with minor injuries, and an 18-year-old man from the Seat who is being treated for minor injuries.

Detectives have stated that they are ‘still in the early stages of the investigation’ into the crash. The Manchester Evening News has disclosed that a video showing a driver exceeding speeds of 120mph on a residential street is being considered as part of the inquiry.

The footage is thought to have been recorded by a passenger in the Seat Leon involved in the fatal collision on Wigan Road, less than 24 hours before the incident occurred.

On Monday, Detective Inspector Andrew Page, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, commented: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this terrible incident. As an investigation team we would encourage people to be mindful of sharing footage on social media given the impact this will have on all the families involved in such a tragic incident.

“Sharing such footage could constitute a criminal offence. Thanks to patrols in the area, teams were able to get to the incident location quickly to what was a particularly challenging scene for colleagues in the emergency services.
