David Beckham posted about a cheeky exchange with son Romeo after Manchester United’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Arsenal.

The former United star has endured a turbulent week following son Brooklyn’s scathing public attack on his parents. Brooklyn, the oldest of David and Victoria’s children, unleashed a barrage of Instagram stories last Monday, claiming his mum and dad have tried to control him for most of his life.

The 26-year-old declared he had no desire to make amends with his family in a lengthy six-page rant. In his explosive statement, Brooklyn accused his parents of manipulating media coverage about his family and attempting to sabotage his marriage to wife Nicola Peltz Beckham.

It’s believed the trio are now completely estranged. Despite this, Beckham maintains a warm relationship with his second-born, Romeo.

The 23-year-old stands as the sole member of Beckham’s offspring to pursue a career in football seriously. He progressed through Arsenal’s youth setup before spells at Inter Miami and Brentford B.

However, Romeo has also fallen far from the tree by becoming a devoted Arsenal fan. And following Sunday’s match, his father couldn’t resist ribbing the Gunners after United’s first league triumph at the Emirates since 2017.

Posting a picture of himself celebrating his iconic halfway line strike against AFC Wimbledon in 1996, he cheekily asked: “You ok Romeo??”

Sunday’s result brought an end to a drought of almost seven years since United last beat Arsenal on their own soil. As a result, interim manager Michael Carrick is quickly earning plaudits to get the United coaching job long-term.

The former Red Devil then posted another snap of him celebrating a goal during his glory days at United. “As the Boss would say ‘squeeky bum time,'” he wrote. “That gap is getting smaller.”

Romeo was quick to fire back on his own Instagram, posting the Premier League table showing Arsenal 12 points clear of United. He cheekily responded: “Don’t get too gassed. Mind the gap.”

United’s victory over Arsenal has propelled Carrick’s squad into the top four. Since stepping into Ruben Amorim’s shoes, the retired midfielder has managed to topple both of the Premier League’s top two, Arsenal and Manchester City.
