A major emergency situation is currently unfolding at an Edinburgh Tesco, with numerous vehicles including an air ambulance spotted in the vicinity.

The incident seems to have kicked off around 9.30am on Wednesday, February 18, in the car park of the supermarket on Meadow Place Road, Corstorphine.

One local reported a significant police presence with ‘loads of four-by-fours’ and a ‘quite intense’ scene.

Photographs from the scene appear to show a cordon set up in the car park with an air ambulance having landed on site. Several police and other ambulance services have also responded to the incident.

A local informed Edinburgh Live: “My son’s dad was driving past and there were loads of four-by-four, police cars, it was extremely heavy police presense there.”, reports Edinburgh Live.

“He called to say, ‘What’s going on?’ He said it was quite intense.”
