Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has spent four years researching the Windsor family and claims the Duke of York is ‘furious’ after being stripped of his titles, while even King Charles can show ‘unflattering petulance’
Royal Family ‘like mafia’ in shocking Prince Andrew cover-up claims
- Royal biographer Andrew Lownie has launched a scathing attack on the Royal Family, claiming they operate “like a mafia” to protect Prince Andrew.
- The author of “Entitled – The Rise and Fall of the House of Windsor” told the Irish News his four years of research left him shocked by the Palace’s cover-up efforts. He said: “I was shocked that the Palace would deny stories, known to be true. It reminded me more of a mafia than a royal family.”
- Lownie claims the late Queen protected Andrew and “put her family ahead of the monarchy”. He describes the Duke of York as a narcissist who remains defiant despite being stripped of his titles.
- The biographer revealed Andrew is “furious” and “believes he’s the victim” following the scandals. He pointed to Andrew’s behaviour at the Duchess of Kent’s funeral, where he was “waving and smiling at onlookers” believing “they’d turned up to see him”.
- However, Lownie insists the entitlement isn’t unique to Andrew but affects the entire Windsor family, including King Charles. He said: “Even the ‘good’ ones like Charles or Anne can reveal an unflattering petulance at times.”
- The author also slammed Sarah Ferguson as “manipulative, greedy and very needy” for hiding when scandals break.
- Lownie warned the monarchy’s survival depends on transparency, cautioning: “It may not spell the end of the monarchy but it will undermine any trust or respect that still exists.”
