Asda ‘knife battle’ as masked gang take grocery store and injure a number of individuals

Several individuals have been injured following a reported knife fight involving a masked gang outside a Nottinghamshire supermarket.

Police were summoned to the Asda on Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at approximately 11.57pm on Friday (March 13). Nottinghamshire Police stated that they received reports of a group of males donning face coverings participating in the incident.

A 17-year-old lad suffered a slash wound to his arm and a 24-year-old man incurred an injury to his elbow during the brawl. According to police, their injuries are not currently considered life-threatening, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

The police confirmed that victims were receiving support and no additional injuries had been reported.

A cordon remains active whilst officers persist in investigating the incident and determining the full circumstances.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, commented: “We are treating this incident seriously and a team of detectives is working hard to locate those involved.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened or who may have any other information which could help us with our inquiries, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to please come forward and to speak to us.

“Similarly, we’d like to hear from anyone who may have recorded dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage which may assist us with our ongoing inquiries.

“We fully understand how concerning this will be within the community, however I want to reassure people that at this stage we are currently treating this as an isolated incident.”
