Two boys, 16, arrested after three injured in ‘knife combat’ incident exterior Asda

Two teenage boys have been arrested after masked thugs allegedly clashed with blades outside a Nottinghamshire supermarket, leaving three people wounded.

Officers rushed to the Asda on Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 11.57pm on Friday (March 13) following reports that a brawl involving knives was taking place outside. Nottinghamshire Police revealed that a 17-year-old lad received a slash wound to his arm and a 24-year-old man was hurt on his elbow during the incident.

Both received treatment at hospital. Police have since tracked down a third casualty, a 23-year-old man who sustained an injury to his arm, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

The force confirmed that all three casualties, whose wounds are not currently thought to be life-threatening, are receiving support from officers.

In an update released today (Sunday, March 15), officers revealed they had arrested two 16-year-old boys on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

The duo remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We do not tolerate violence or those who think it is acceptable to carry or use weapons.

“Following these arrests we continue to investigate this incident and efforts are ongoing to trace other people believed to have been involved.”
