Ever wondered what would happen if you took 40,000 glammed up Brits, stuck a silly hat on each of their heads, and let them booze and bet until they can neither pay their bar tab nor walk home?

It’s an occasion where the women of this great nation, from the baronesses and countesses in their country houses to, well, all of those who don’t have a butler, come together and remind the UK that the ladies of this country can get sloshed at the races too. And look good while doing it.
Money will be won and money will be lost, but the memories of chasing after your £200 hat in the wind after necking a seventh glass of Whispering Angel – all while wearing six inch stilettos and a bodycon dress – now that’s truly priceless.
