The Daily Star’s facial expert Jess Fitch got her hands (and face) on one of the most talked about products on the market, the Byoma Bio-Collagen Radiance Facial Mask
I’m sure I am not the only woman whose feed has been flooded with a new product review or promotion every five scrolls. It’s extremely difficult to filter through the noise – is this product legitimate or just another influencer promotional fad? And this new product is no different, currently being the main star of my FYP and I just had to know whether it was worth the hype.
The Byoma Bio-Collagen Radiance Facial Mask has pretty much blown up and you know what? It’s bringing something nostalgic to the market. The mask is peel-off, something which transports me back to my 11-year-old self begging my mum in Superdrug to buy me a cheap mask for a sleepover. Yet, those £1 masks were no more than a bit of fun and promised none of the skin benefits I would want now.
Byoma’s new product packs a punch. Containing Tri-Ceramide Complex to protect and maintain skin barrier, Bio-collagen to reduce water loss and Cica and Astaxanthin to fight signs of visible redness.
Amongst all this, it also promises the look many women are after currently: glass skin. All this from a peel-off face mask? I wasn’t convinced. But let me tell you, I was so wrong.
Firstly, packaging is always important to me. Having tried Byoma’s serums in the past, I would say I know the brand fairly well by now. I love their bright hues – this mask being a sort of muted hot pink, and the colour really pops on my shelf.
Very satisfying. I also enjoyed that they included a little plastic applicator in the lid, making it very easy to both apply and mix (which they recommend before use).
The mask itself is baby pink and a very thick consistency. This would normally annoy me but actually made the application of the product easier to spread on the face. The mask takes about 20-30 minutes to dry which is the perfect amount of time to kick my feet up and wait for the magic to happen.
The best part of a peel-off is, funnily enough, peeling it off. This made for an extremely satisfying watch in my mirror which, I would say, added to my relaxation and my skin underneath was GLOWING.
I have always pined for the look of glass skin (thanks Hailey Bieber) and this mask made my skin look porcelain. It felt moisturised, plump and what’s even better is that I didn’t have to worry about washing the product off.
Having tried and tested this product for a few days now, I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. Sitting at a mid-range market price of £16.99, this mask isn’t going to break the bank and will last you a good amount of time. With 2016 making its comeback era, maybe it is time to revisit the days of the good old peel-off.
