Following Saturday’s defeat to Leeds, coupled with West Ham’s result on Monday night, Wolves have been relegated from the Premier League
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been relegated to the Sky Bet Championship after West Ham United drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace.
Rob Edwards’ side were beaten 3-0 at Leeds United on Saturday, meaning the Hammers just needed to secure a point at Selhurst Park to relegate their rivals. The relegation brings an end to Wolves’ eight-year stay in the top flight and confirms what felt inevitable even as far back as the start of the season.
Winless after 11 games, Edwards replaced the sacked Vitor Pereira, and he inherited a side who were languishing rock bottom of the table on a measly two points.

Edwards, who left Middlesbrough to move to Molineux back in November, lost his first seven games but then saw an upturn following a 1-1 draw with Manchester United in December.
Although wins over West Ham United, Aston Villa and Liverpool followed, back-to-back heavy defeats to the Hammers and Leeds have left Wolves 16 points off 17th with just five games remaining.
“We need to make sure we have a squad that’s very capable in the Championship,” Edwards said, following the 3-0 defeat at Elland Road at the weekend.
“The recruitment is so important, the summer is so important. We know people will leave and we know that we’re going to need to recruit good players.
“People who want to be here at Wolves and represent the club, people who we trust to work extremely hard who can do it Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday to Tuesday.
“That side of it now is so, so important. There will be players that we want to keep and there will be some that we want to try and move on as well to freshen things up so we can be better.
“The (planning) started a long time ago. We’ve spoken openly, Nathan has spoken openly to supporters, we’ve spoken internally at the football club as well to make sure that we’re trying to be really honest and open with as many people as we can.
“We’ve known for a long time the situation that we’re in so people are making plans.”
