Jamie and Rebekah Vardy have signed up for a new ITV reality series detailing their new lives in Italy after overcoming the ‘Wagatha Christie’ debacle.

Out later this year, The Vardys promises to lift the lid on the famous family’s adventures as they face their biggest challenge yet – leaving Leicester City after 13 years for a new life abroad.

It’s been a difficult five years for Rebekah who is intent on putting the ‘Wagatha’ drama involving Coleen Rooney behind her, and focusing on settling her four kids into Italian life.

Rebekah shared: “Think house-hunts, culture clashes and a few unexpected disasters along the way.”

Kicking off later this year on ITV1 and ITVX, the show follows Jamie Vardy’s emotional final match for Leicester City FC- including his 200th goal – while matriarch Rebekah juggles family life behind the scenes.

Viewers get to see candid, unfiltered footage of tearful school searches, dramatic setbacks and Jamie battling to prove his doubters wrong on the pitch at the age of 38, with Italian Serie A underdogs US Cremonese.

Louise Major, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment & Reality, says: “At a pivotal moment in their lives, this is a rare and revealing look behind the headlines – from the highs of Jamie’s football legacy to the realities of starting over as a family, with Rebekah sharing her reflections on one of the most talked-about stories of the last decade.”

Wagatha Christie was a high-profile libel case between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy. It earned its nickname from Rooney’s “sting operation” to catch Vardy leaking her private information, a reveal that social media users compared to an Agatha Christie whodunit.

Vardy lost her libel case and was subsequently ordered to pay around 90% of Rooney’s legal fees, with total costs estimated to exceed £3 million.

Dan Grabiner and Nat Lippiett, Executive Producers, Orchard Studios who make the new show say: “The Vardys are an iconic and brilliantly entertaining family, and this behind-the-scenes insight into their big move shows them as you’ve never seen them before. Candid, unfiltered and completely unpredictable. Welcome to the Vardy party.”
