Ana Maria Markovic, who has been dubbed as the ‘world’s prettiest football’, suffered a horror injury that had her joking “everyone is staring at me”.
Markovic, who is playing stateside with Brooklyn Women’s Football Club, suffered the injury in training – taking to social media to explain: “Yep, I broke my nose… this story is kind of funny because my sister broke it…
“It happened just in training, we went for a header and then yeah… He (the doctor) had to put it back in place; so what we’re doing here is numbing my face.” The voiceover then cuts to Markovic talking to the camera.

“This was one of the worst pains, I hate injections and now he’s numbing everything up and then he’ll put my nose back in place.
“This was crazy, I’m crying so bad… but I fell nothing!” The clip is then muted as the doctor puts Markovic’s nose back in place.
She continued: “He told me only 70 per cent of the noses get back to normal – that number is not enough for me so maybe I need the surgery!”
Fans of the stunner were quick were to rush to the comments section: “Take good care of yourself. I hope you feel better very soon!”
“Get well soon,” a second shared. While a third posted: “Please take care of yourself Aninha and get well soon!”
And another cheeky fan added: “I’m trying not to fall in love so fast but you I cant resist!”
Markovic has previously explained how she’s flattered when she’s labelled as ‘beautiful’ but hates being called ‘sexy’.
She said: “I liked the articles that called me the most beautiful footballer or one of the most beautiful because it makes me happy to hear that I am beautiful.
“But then newspaper articles appeared in which I was described as the sexiest footballer. I didn’t like that.”
Markovic signed for Brooklyn last summer after spells with SF Damaiense, Braga and Grasshopper – she also plays for Croatia on the international stage.
