Asad Hussain, 36, was convicted at Chester Crown Court after creating fake Tinder profiles for his ex-partner, falsely promising men a ‘rape fantasy’ to lure at least 18 of them to her home
A stalker created fake Tinder dating profiles for his ex claiming she had a preference for ‘rough sex’, in a twisted attempt to lure men to her home to rape her. Asad Hussain, 36, initially posed as ‘Mick Renney’ on social media and went on several dates with the mother before forming a brief relationship.
However, Chester Crown Court heard that the relationship ended in May 2024 due to his overwhelming paranoid jealousy. A jury heard Hussain would become agitated whenever she met a male friend, repeatedly ringing her doorbell for hours and scrutinising her phone contacts for other men.
His controlling behaviour extended to insisting on being present whenever she used her phone and, on one occasion, forcing his way into her bathroom, pushing her to the ground, and seizing her mobile.
Following their breakup, men began arriving at her home, claiming to have matched with her on Tinder and demanding the “rape fantasy” and “rough” sex promised on the app. The men, deceived by the fake profile created by Hussain, showed the victim her supposed profile and messages, which included statements suggesting that if she said “no”, it meant she “wanted it more”.
Cheshire Police launched an investigation and uncovered that Renney was an alias used by Hussain of Heald Green, Cheadle. He was found guilty of stalking involving serious alarm or distress, assault, and failure to comply with a Section 49 RIPA Notice, reports the Express.
In a harrowing incident that took place in September 2024, the woman andwered her door, only to have a man shove it and cause a glass panel to shatter.
He showed her messages from the fake Tinder account, telling him the front door was open for him and that he should give the door a ‘shove’ as it was ‘stiff’.”
Later that day, another man visited her house while her teenage daughter was upstairs alone, managing to enter the house without incident. He stayed inside the property for several minutes before leaving.
Fortunately, many of the men who visited her house provided their contact details, wanting to help with any potential police investigation.
In their statements to police, the men described strikingly similar events where they matched with someone they believed to be her on Tinder.
They were quickly invited to her home, given her phone number, and upon arriving, were asked questions about the cars parked outside. They were then told she was waiting in the conservatory for them and were instructed to enter her home.
At least 18 men are believed to have been deceived into attending her address. The true number however remains unknown, police said.
The force added: “Officers were able to show that every time the Tinder accounts were active, Hussain had travelled from Cheadle to the Northwich area, staying at an industrial unit he rented or parked in a layby on the A556 two miles from the victim’s home while operating the fake Tinder accounts for hours at a time.
“Hussain even went as far as contacting the woman pretending to be a man who’d matched with one of the fake Tinder accounts he’d created.
“In messages sent to her, he claimed to have visited her home address more than once and probed her on whether police had identified him and what officers had told her.”
PC Keith Terrill, the investigating officer, stated: “This is one of the most disturbing stalking cases Cheshire Constabulary has ever investigated.
“Hussain is an extremely deceitful individual whose only objective was to cause maximum harm to the victim and her children, even going as far as to incite others to break into her home and sexually assault her.”
He will face sentencing at a later date.
