A major UK airport saw two members of an airline’s cabin crew arrested after concerns were raised.

Two cabin crew members were detained after worries were raised about their ability to carry out their responsibilities, police have confirmed.

Officers were summoned to an arriving flight at Gate 49 at Manchester Airport on Saturday afternoon (May 2).

It’s believed the aircraft’s captain was asked to report to the gate after he voiced his concerns.

Both flight attendants were taken into custody following preliminary breath tests that indicated readings exceeded the threshold for aviation responsibilities.

However, additional testing while in police custody showed they were actually within the permitted limit.

Both people were freed without any charges being brought, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Police attended the Manchester Airport on 2 May 2026 after concerns about the fitness of two cabin crew members to perform their duties.
