NBA icon Dennis Rodman gained a reputation as a ladies’ man during his career and he once claimed he bedded 2,000 women and suffered a broken penis three times in the process.
Rodman, who celebrated his 65th birthday this week, is a five-time NBA champion, but he is arguably as famous off the court as he is on it for the chaotic antics and behaviour he got up to in his checkered career and controversial life.
The Chicago Bulls icon enjoyed the company of women and was involved in famous relationships with music legend Madonna and Baywatch beauty Carmen Electra during the 1990s. Rodman has made no bones about his wild sex life and penned all his stories in his tell-all autobiography, ‘I Should Be Dead By Now’.

The New Jersey-born star claimed: “[I’ve been with] more than 2,000 women, of which at least 500 were prostitutes.
“I had sex in each and every one of the Berto Center’s [Bulls’ training facility] rooms, the weight room, the training court… it was crazy. When they read this my team-mates are going to say ‘damn!’ But the truth is that it went well for us.”
In quite a harrowing twist in Rodman’s sex revelations, the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year admitted to breaking his penis three times in his life, as he spoke to Vice magazine.
“I was on a boat one time in Dallas, Texas, and was out in the sun all day long, drinking, drinking, partying, partying then I was out for the night drunk as a motherf*****,” he said.
“Me and my girl ended up in a king size bed, inside the boat. She loved to have sex. She said she wanted to try something new [for me to] go running and jump on her.
“So I ran, ran and ran, and jumped… and it literally broke, there was blood everywhere. She went pale.
“She began to shout, ‘Oh my god. He’s dead. I killed him. Oh my god.’ But I tried to calm her and said ‘No, honey, I broke my d***’.”
Rodman said the situation happened two more times after that, on the second occasion when a lover tried to show him one of “10 ways to satisfy a man” but got a bit over-exuberant, and a third time, when he met up with a nurse at a hotel, but was left surrounded by eight doctors, who diagnosed him with a very particular injury.
Rodman, aka ‘The Worm’, revealed: “Same story. I went to the hotel room, we had sex, and it happened again, they had to take me to the hospital. The nurse was bringing doctors to figure out what had happened to me.
“In the end there were eight doctors around me. I told them that I knew what I had. In the end I was diagnosed with a ‘penile contusion’.”
Rodman’s flings have come at the risk of ruining marriages, and one such story he recalled saw him bed a soon-to-be wife who was out on a hen party just days before tying the knot.
However, he had little sympathy for what he had done. He recalled: ‘Why don’t you do the right thing and send them packing?’ That’s not my choice to make. If some woman wants to have sex with me for whatever reason – I’m irresistible, a last fling, revenge against an unfaithful husband, temporary insanity – who am I to say ‘No’? If they want to betray all that is holy by f***ing the devil himself, that’s their decision.
“If I say ‘no’ I’m saying that this helpless little girl in incapable of making her own decisions. My approach has always been, ‘if you’re willing, let’s go’. There is one exception, if I know your husband or your boyfriend, I won’t do it. Other than that, bring it on.”
