Blanca Adriana Vázquez Montiel was persuaded to undergo liposuction at a clinic in Puebla, Mexico, but vanished shortly afterwards – her body was found in a ditch three days later
A 37-year-old mum has been discovered dead in a ditch following her disappearance during a liposuction operation.
Blanca Adriana Vázquez Montiel’s body was found on Wednesday (May 21) morning, with police immediately called to the scene. Attending officers reportedly discovered abdominal cuts that could be connected to the cosmetic surgery she had received.
The remains were located in Altzayanca, Mexico, three days after Blanca vanished in Puebla, over an hour’s journey away. On Monday (May 18), she visited a clinic in Puebla alongside her husband, Florencio Ramos Sánchez, originally just to seek information. Yet staff allegedly convinced her to have the operation on the same day.
She is thought to have received power-assisted liposuction costing 14,000 MXN (£602), plus an additional 3,000 MXN (£129) for skin tightening.
Approximately one hour into the surgery, staff supposedly dispatched her husband to purchase a compression garment, bandages and medication.
Upon his return, he discovered the clinic shut and contacted police, according to NeedToKnow.
CCTV footage subsequently surfaced showing three staff members carrying Blanca’s unconscious body from the clinic and putting it into a car boot moments after her husband had been sent away.
The three suspects have been named as alleged practitioner Diana Alejandra Palafox Romero, her son Carlos Quezada Palafox, and a female assistant.
All three remain on the run. Palafox Romero owns Detox Clínica. It has now come to light that she possesses no registered medical licence.
She allegedly worked previously in customer service for a telecommunications firm before moving into cosmetic treatments. She faces charges of homicide and falsely presenting herself as a doctor.
The clinic’s advertised treatments, subsequently deleted from social media, featured vaginal tightening, hormone pellets, endolift procedures, Botox, hyaluronic acid lip fillers, arm liposuction, and so-called “salmon sperm” facials.
Blanca’s body is set to be transported to Huauchinango, her home town. Her mother, Bárbara Montiel, stated: “She also had children who are suffering, and I know that sooner or later they will pay for everything they did to my girl.”
The shocking incident follows closely after the case of Yulixa Consuelo Toloza, who received laser lipolysis at a clinic in Bogotá, Colombia, on May 13.
Following the treatment, the mate who had gone with her came back to discover she had vanished. Personnel informed the friend that the 52-year-old had departed the clinic alone.
Nevertheless, CCTV material subsequently surfaced showing two men carrying Yulixa, who seemed to be unconscious, into a vehicle. The car captured in the footage was later discovered abandoned in Cúcuta, close to the Venezuelan border, on Monday (May 18).
That very day, Venezuelan citizens Jesús Hernández Morales and Kelvis Sequera Delgado were detained.
They are thought to have driven the car from Bogotá to Cúcuta. Yulixa’s body was subsequently discovered in a rural area of Apulo on Tuesday (May 19), reportedly following information provided by the apprehended suspects.
Just hours later, the capture of three additional suspects in Venezuela was confirmed.
Those arrested included clinic owner María Fernanda Delgado Hernández, her partner Edinson José Torres Sarmiento, and Eduardo David Ramos, who is alleged to have performed the procedure.
Authorities have stated that the clinic, Beauty Láser M.L., which marketed itself as a “hair salon and beauty treatments” establishment, was not licensed to conduct invasive procedures such as liposuction and has since been closed down.
