Callum Turner’s chances of becoming the next James Bond have soared and his new wife Dua Lipa could be along for the ride too.

The actor, 36, is now the 4/6 favourite to replace Daniel Craig as 007, putting him way ahead of contenders including Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jacob Elordi. The surge in support comes just days after he tied the knot with the chart-topping singer, 30, in a low-key ceremony in London on Sunday.

And the pop superstar is also the odds-on favourite to perform the theme tune for the next blockbuster, ahead of rivals including Olivia Dean, Raye, Sam Fender and Lana Del Rey.

Bookies say the newlyweds could be in line for a bumper Bond payday if both land their respective roles in the franchise.

John Hill, of Coral, said: “A Turner Bond and a Dua Lipa theme song is proving a popular double with punters.

“Both are odds-on favourites, and many fans clearly think they’d be the perfect duo to usher in the next generation of Bond.”

Nicola McGeady, of Ladbrokes, added: “It’s been a huge few days for Callum Turner and Dua Lipa, and punters clearly think there could be even more to come.

“The odds have taken a hammering on both of them landing key Bond roles, and if the money keeps coming, they could become the ultimate 007 power couple.”

The loved-up pair were pictured walking their dogs in London the day after their wedding celebrations. They will jet off to celebrate with a lavish three-day bash in Sicily packed with celebrity pals in the coming days.

The festivities are centred around Palermo and Bagheria – famous for its mafia links.

Local mayor Filippo Tripoli, who will officiate the event, said Dua’s arrival is helping transform the area’s reputation as a former mob hotspot.

He said: “Bagheria is bouncing back after years in which it was known for mafia and violence, and Dua Lipa helps that process by putting it on the map for a different reason.”
