Adorned with the brand’s iconic triple stripe on each side of the shoe, the trainers also display the adidas logo printed on its heel tab, tongue, side as well as embossed onto the sole.

If the shades currently available on Amazon aren’t quite suitable, those who aren’t fussed about branded items might fancy Next’s Friends Like These Red Standard Fit Chunky Platform Gumsole Lace Up Casual Trainers as a lovely alternative. They come in a stunning bright red shade that also features a gum platform heel. Priced at £39, they come in brown and white options too, reports Bristol Live.

At Marks and Spencer, its Suede Side Detail Platform Trainers give these styles a run for their money with a T-toe design and flat platform sole. Coming in three colourways – pink and burgundy, black and cream, green and beige – the trainers are £50 and shoppers rave about them being “great quality, beautiful colour and really comfy too wear,” according to one buyer.

Although it’s clear that adidas fans are thrilled at finding these shoes on Amazon for less, with the trainers boasting an impressive 4.6 star-rating from over 5,000 reviews. It’s worth noting, however, the main complaint from some customers is that they run slightly small.

One review stated: “Super comfy trainers, with good arch support. Came up small and had to return the first pair bought in my usual size, which was a challenge as no free returns label! Sorted in the end…. Feels a bit weird wearing a 7, but it fits well!

“Platform sole makes them stylish and a bit different without losing that Adidas feel. Nice colour combo that goes with everything.”

Someone else commented: “Bought these with a 50% reduction, an absolute bargain. I am normally a size 7 but size up in Adidas trainers to a 7 1/2 these fit perfectly and the platform sole makes them feel very comfortable, totally recommend.”

A third shared: “Obsessed with these shoes – they are beautiful,” but warned in her review: “Please note that they are extremely small and have thick cushioning inside (which make them the most comfortable adidas I have ever worn but also makes it pretty tight).”

Not everyone encountered sizing issues, with one Amazon customer sharing a glowing review that read: “Love these trainers. When I first got them I was bit worried as they seemed a bit tight and stiff, however after wearing them and breaking them in they are great. They look fab, and are comfy.”

Another loved how they were “good walking shoes, comfortable and light weight”.
