Neil Muller, 54, was found dead with stab wounds at his family home in Claverdon, Warwickshire, early on Sunday morning – a woman, 55, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail
Tributes have been paid to a CEO tech boss whose death led to the arrest of a woman on suspicion of murder. Neil Muller has been named in media reports as the man in his 50s who was found with a stab wound to the chest at a house on Langley Road in the Warwickshire village of Claverdon on Sunday morning.
Mr Muller, aged 54, was the chief executive of Derby-based, IT business Node4. A spokesman for the company said: “We are absolutely devastated by the death of our CEO Neil Muller.
“Although Neil only recently joined Node4, he made a meaningful impact in a short space of time. He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry.
“Our thoughts are with Neil’s family, our colleagues and everyone who knew Neil at this very difficult time”.
Neil joined the firm in April this year and was previously at the helm of MSP Digital Space for seven years.
Mr Muller also oversaw local football team Claverdon FC. He was married with two children.
Locals have been left “shocked” by the incident.
One resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “Neil did a lot for the local football club.
“I heard about it in the village shop this morning. It is a real shock and a real loss to the village.”
Mr Muller had stepped down as assistant manager of Claverdon football club’s men’s team in 2024, but continued his involvement with the club and served as a sponsor.
His death occurred the night following an end of season awards ceremony held at the Red Lion pub according to locals, though it remains unclear whether he was present.
Warwickshire Police said on Wednesday that it had yet to formally identify the man who died.
Officers received a report from ambulance services at 6.15am on Sunday about a man requiring emergency medical care following a stab wound to his chest.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene at 6.37am and at 7.33am a 55-year-old woman from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder.
She has since been released on bail.
In a statement issued on Monday, police said there was no wider risk to the public.
