A man wearing a Declan Rice England shirt was filmed helping to break up a wild brawl inside an Iceland supermarket in North London after a fight broke out near the checkouts
An England supporter seemed to intervene and assist in breaking up a wild high street supermarket brawl after pandemonium broke out near the checkouts.
Wearing what appeared to be a Declan Rice No. 4 England shirt, the man was spotted attempting to defuse the situation as a fight erupted inside an Iceland store. A large crowd congregated outside the supermarket as shoppers and passers-by halted to witness the drama unfold.
The fracas occurred at an Iceland store in Chapel Market, Islington, North London. The incident was captured on film by a member of the public on Tuesday (June 16). Footage seems to show the England fan trying to calm the situation before a man in a hoodie charged into the store.
Moments later, the man was seen tussling with another individual near the checkouts.
The pair traded blows on the floor while shoppers attempted to separate them. The England supporter eventually helped to part the men and seemed to guide one of them away from the confrontation.
Another bystander also stepped in and led the other man away from the scene. During the commotion, a woman was seen being escorted out of the store as tensions began to subside.
Police officers subsequently arrived at the supermarket. The footage shows the England-shirted onlooker conversing with officers and appearing to explain what had transpired inside the store.
The clip sparked a flurry of reactions online.
One person said: “I find it very wholesome when people from different ages and backgrounds come together peacefully to watch a fight in public.
“Everybodies primitive mechanisms kick in, establish they are safe themselves, and decide to enjoy the show together like a real community.”
Another person added: “That is the one place I thought everyone would be chilled.”
