All of England’s player ratings versus Panama in the World Cup as Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions beat the minnows 2-0 at the New York-New Jersey Stadium to finish top of Group L
England beat Panama 2-0 to finish top of Group L with seven points in the 2026 World Cup – but they made hard work of the win.
Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions are still undefeated out in North America after an exhilarating 4-2 victory over Croatia in their opening clash, followed by a 0-0 bore draw with Ghana and then a hard fought but not particularly inspiring victory against minnows Panama.
But all that matters at this stage – especially when you consider the fate of nations like Scotland – is that England are through to when the tournament gets interesting, as a Round of 32 clash with African giants Senegal awaits on Wednesday at 5pm, meaning we don’t even have to stay up late or get up in the middle of the night to watch it. Here’s how the England players rated against Panama.

Starting XI
Jordan Pickford
Some uncertain moments with the ball but was largely untested. 6.
Jarell Quansah
England’s injury jinx struck once more. Another right-back option ruled out. Departed injured. 6.
Ezri Konsa
Sensed the threat well but perhaps England were left vulnerable on the break too frequently. 6.
Marc Guehi
Cleared up, spotted the warning signs and displayed plenty of composure. Has secured his spot. 7.
Nico O’Reilly
Fitted into midfield and therefore you could hardly fault his contribution from the left. 6.
Elliot Anderson
Excellent with the ball, cleaned up effectively and is clearly developing as a player. Let’s see if £116m represents good value. 6.
Jude Bellingham
Cometh the hour, cometh the man. He netted and supplied an assist. England’s key figure. Gary Neville on ITV Sports said he was England’s “one player in form”. Quite. 8.
Bukayo Saka
Neat touches and some flair which was then rewarded with an assist from a corner. 7.
Morgan Rogers
Improved but this demonstrated that if it’s a choice between him and Bellingham there is only one victor. 6.
Marcus Rashford
He was far superior to Gordon down the left. Was energetic and menacing. Vindicated his selection. 7.
Harry Kane
Surpassed Gary Lineker’s World Cup goals record as he returned to the scoresheet. Crucial strike. 7.
Substitutes
Madueke, for Saka, 63 mins, 6.
Spence, for Quansah, 63 mins, 6.
Eze, for Bellingham, 71 mins. 6.
